The Sarah Diaries: The Amanda Edition

It’s no secret, Cancer is something we take seriously. It’s a disease that doesn’t discriminate on age, race, gender, or financial stability. Genetics, or something else, it’s evil and can be devastating, not just to the person battling it, but to the family that surrounds them.

Imagine you’re 24, married, 2 little girls, and you are told you have Breast Cancer. You go through surgery, and 10 rounds of chemo, think you have it beat for a year! Only during a follow up appointment you are told you have Stage 4 cancer. You begin aggressive treatments of chemo weekly until your tumors are gone, and every 3 weeks after for the rest. of. your. life.

Unfortunately this isn’t a dream, this is Amanda Goss’ story. At 26 she’s a wife, mom, survivor, and now battling once again.

Here’s how we help. Many of her expenses to win this fight are out of pocket and expensive. This Saturday (Dec. 3rd) you can help Amanda and her family by stopping by the Watervliet Middle School (450 E. Red Arrow Hwy – Watervliet) from 11a-2p, for their Craft Fair Fundraiser. They’ve lined up over 50 different vendors (Christmas shopping anyone?), silent auction items, food & baked goods for sale, t-shirts, and raffle prizes.

Show some love, and help her “Nail” cancer once again!
