The British TV program where a white actor was to play Michael Jackson will not air.
There was a ton of negative publicity this week about the episode of the Sky TV series Urban Myths — which does not air in the U.S. — in which Joseph Fiennes was cast. The storyline involved an oft-speculated “road trip” from New York to Los Angeles that Michael made with Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando after the 9/11 attacks.
But once Paris Jackson lashed out at the production — saying the trailer footage she’d seen made her “want to vomit” — it seemed inevitable the episode would be scuttled. And rumor turned to fact on Friday morning. (BBC)
