Some national recognition for Stevensville's Competitive Edge. The company has been named one of the top 500 businesses owned by women by Diversity Business.com. The organization's been around since 1999, saluting and promoting companies that are minority or women run, and President Kenton Clark tells us that people would be surprised by how many larger businesses are owned by what he calls "diverse groups." Even as the economy struggled, such companies continued to grow:
He says that Competitive Edge -- which makes promotional products -- would have landed on the top 500 list after winding up on the Diversity Business registry, and having the revenue to qualify it. In addition to being named to the national list, Competitive Edge also ranked number 31 on Michigan's Top 50 Women Owned Business List. the company will be honored at Diversity Business.com's annual conference in Connecticut in April.
