Lake Township now has an estimated value for the former Michigan State Police post it owns in Bridgman. Township Supervisor John Gast says a Grand Rapids firm recently appraised the land and the building.
It's been vacant for a few months since state police left and consolidated operations into the Niles post. Gast says they want to move as quick as possible to either sell the property or to lease it. Indiana Michigan Power has expressed an interest in buying the site and negotiations had been on hold pending the appraisal. The former state police post was built in 1994 and closed recently as part of a consolidation plan.
