A man who was caught shoplifting groceries from a supermarket in Malaysia got hit with a highly unusual “sentence” – a permanent job offered by the manager of the store he'd tried to rob.
The 31-year-old man said he'd never committed a crime before, but stole seven dollars' worth of food because he was broke, having just quit his job after his wife went into a coma during childbirth. Store manager Radzuan Ma’asan, who also gave the man food for his three kids, said, “He was not a regular thief. [His] situation really touched our hearts.”
