The world has enough princesses, so a little girl named Ainsley decided to be a hot dog.

The five-year-old North Carolina girl recently showed up to “Princess Week” as her dance school dressed up as a hot dog, because she didn’t want to be like everyone else. A photo of her in the costume quickly went viral, with thousands of people praising Ainsley for her individuality.

The dance school’s director Marilyn Chappell and all of the instructors thought her fashion statement was great and used it as an opportunity to teach the students to embrace being themselves. Chappell says, “We all needed a leader to say, ‘Hey, be yourself.’ How cool is it that a little girl in a hot dog costume is sending out that message?”

Ainsley has also inspired the #hotdogprincess hashtag.
