SWIMSUITS OUT AT MISS TEEN USA

There’s a major cover-up going on at one long-standing beauty pageant – which has just eliminated its swimsuit competition.

Officials at the Miss Teen USA pageant have announced that, starting with next month’s contest, the young ladies competing for the crown will no longer have to parade around in swimwear. The folks behind the competition have always said that they never wanted to exploit the girls in the mix, only show off their “athletic bodies.”

So now, the 15-to-19-year-olds will walk the runway in actual athletic gear, which pleases Katherine Haik, the reigning Miss Teen USA. She tells USA Today “This new direction for Miss Teen USA is a great way to celebrate the active lives that so many young women lead and set a strong example for our peers.”
