Youtube gives you the most popular 4th of July music!

What could be more American than family, hot dogs and…Katy Perry?

The California girl figures prominently in our holiday listening, according to the folks at YouTube, who’ve just compiled the most populat Fourth of July songs in its archives. YouTube tracked every video it has and checked which ones got more hits on the holiday weekend each of the past three years. Yeah, the list is dominated by versions of “God Bless America,” the national anthem and flag-waving country anthems, but pop makes its mark as well.

Views of Katy’s “Firework” more than doubled because of the holiday, as did Miley Cyrus‘s “Party in the U.S.A.” Katy notched another spot on the list with “Teenage Dream,” and Bruce Springsteen also earned a place with “Streets of Philadelphia” — an odd choice, since it’s the theme from a movie about the battle against AIDS.
