In Chicago, a Dutch Shepherd named Shaw and a white parrot named Samson have formed an unlikely bond after both being rescued from shelters.

Alexandria Fisher admits that she didn’t know how things would turn out when she took the dog home from Chicago’s Animal Control two years ago and introduced him to her bird.
It was a rocky start as Samson bit Shaw right on the nose.

But Alexandria worked on helping the animals get along – and now the two are inseparable, spending most of their time together, even eating together from the same bowl.

Where Shaw goes, Samson follows – and Alexandria has seen an amazing change in Samson’s attitude. Before, Samson was often angry and squawking – and biting new “friends” on the nose. Now, he lets people pet and hold him.

All thanks to the thoughtful woman who brought him home and the dog she introduced as a friend.
