A high school volleyball player in Texas really came up big in the clutch last Friday – and the game hadn’t even started yet.

Both teams were lined up for the playing of the national anthem when the recording of the song failed to play. As the staff tried to get it to work, Marina Garcia, a player with Oliver Wendell Holmes High School, grabbed the microphone and sang it herself.

But she didn’t just sing it, she nailed it like a boss. The gymnasium was stunned as Marina belted out the “Star Spangled Banner” and even hit the high note. Video of the performance has gone viral.

When she was done, the gym erupted in cheers. Afterwards Marina said, “I enjoy the sport and playing it. [That moment] gave me a lot of hope that I can [become a singer].”
