1980 – The SNL Based film “The Blues Brothers” premieres and reinvigorates passion for the 60’s R+B and Soul music scene.
1994 – Diana Ross sings at the World Cup opening ceremonies at Soldier Field in Chicago. She even took a penalty kick while singing “I’m coming out.”
2016 – Adele was named songwriter of the year for her multi-million selling album, “25.” The album was the result of a long struggle with writer’s block.
Artifact of the day: 1976 – Pop Group, Abba, gave a performance in Stockholm for Sweden’s King and Queen to be on the eve of their wedding.
