1983 – Happy Birthday Macklemore! The 35 year old rapper was born in Seattle Washington, with the name Ben Haggerty.
1990 – Prince played the first night of his 12-night sold out engagement at Wembley Arena in London.
2004 – David Bowie took a lollipop to the eye when a fan threw one at him during a show in Oslo, Norway. He stopped the concert to remove it and fortunately suffered no injury from the bizarre incident.
Artifact of the day: 1973 – “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” debuts at the Royal Court Theater in London. The musical featured the popular song “Time Warp” and was late adapted into a cult classic film.
