1987 – Whitney Houston made history when she became the first woman to enter the U.S album chart at No.1 with her self titled album “Whitney.”
1994 – Aerosmith joined the future of music by becoming the first major band to allow fans to download a full new track for free from the internet.
2009 – Black Eyed Peas started their 14 week stretch at No. 1 with their hit single “Boom, Boom, Pow.” They went on to replace their own No.1 slot with another single from the same album, “I Gotta Feeling.”
Artifact of the day: 1970 – The Jackson Five hit a two week run at No.1 with their song “The Love You Save.” This would mark the group’s third U.S No.1 of the year.
