RESTAURANT OWNERS PAY IT FORWARD WITH FREE PIZZAS
Jack Srebnik and Ellen Spencer have owned a pizzeria called The Slice in Rancho Mirage, California, since 2008. Of course, this year has been unusual — but they’re doing their best to serve others with a new program they’re calling Pay It Forward pizza days. Every Monday, Jack and Ellen donate 20 pizzas to nurses at a nearby hospital — and each Thursday, they deliver 80 free burritos. And, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, they distribute 50 to 70 pizzas to local senior citizens. They’ve been able to keep their business rolling, even with all the social distancing rules and special cleaning rules. But instead of just worrying about themselves and their business, Jack and Ellen are doing their best to share their success with others by giving away free food whenever they can. (Desert Sun)
