Happy Headline from United Federal Credit Union – Friday, August 21

Billy and Nellie Jones of Savannah, Georgia, were born just four days apart back in 1920. They were married when they were both teenagers — and after nearly 80 years as a married couple, they just celebrated their 100th birthdays together — in the house they built in 1958.

Billy got to his 100th birthday on August 7th and Nellie got to her 100th birthday on August 11th.

Friends and family — including three sons, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren — showed up for a birthday parade, featuring cars, golf carts and bicycles.

Nellie said she’s especially thankful to live to be 100 because she’s been able to do it with Billy, knowing that very few couples get to share that milestone. (Savannah Now)
