About four years ago, Paxton Burns had an idea to set up a food box on the front yard of his home, allowing people to donate and pick up non-perishable food to help others in his community.
Thanks to Paxton’s hard work and generous spirit, there are now 75 Paxton’s Blessing Boxes found outside homes and schools in Sedgwick County, Kansas — as well as other parts of Kansas and even in five other states.
And, his efforts to help those in need get food with no questions asked has resulted in Paxton winning a special humanitarian award during a virtual ceremony.
Paxton is clearly wise beyond his years, explaining that he thinks it’s “pretty cool” that he can “help people who sometimes don’t have the stuff that he has.” (The Wichita Eagle)
