R. Kelly was thrown into solitary Thursday after a fellow inmate attacked the singer at a Chicago federal lockup.
According to Page Six, the man was frustrated over recent lockdowns caused by pro-R. Kelly protests outside the jail. The star’s lawyer, Steven Greenberg, says, “My understanding is, every time there is a pro-R. Kelly protest outside of the jail, they lock down the entire facility.”
The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer, who’s awaiting trial on child sex abuse charges, was in his cell when another inmate walked in and attacked him.
Greenberg adds that he’s not hurt too bad.” Kelly reportedly received only “minor injuries, nothing broken or anything like that.”
He was placed in solitary confinement because it’s the only place jail staff “can protect him.”

It’s been rumored for days and now it’s finally official. Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean will compete on Season 29 of Dancing With the Stars.
On Thursday, the 42-year-old singer-dancer confirmed that he’ll be on the show. Also joining the cast will be Kaitlyn Bristowe of The Bachelorette, but who their professional partners will be has yet to be revealed.
AJ made the reveal on Good Morning America and said his two daughters, ages three and seven, are particularly excited to see him put on his dancing shoes on TV. (quote) “They are stoked – especially my oldest.” (Fox News)

Apparently, Miranda Kerr has a fine relationship with ex-husband Orlando Bloom. The model was among the many on Thursday who offered Orlando and Katy Perry congratulations on the birth of their daughter, Daisy Dove.
Before divorcing in 2013, Miranda and Orlando were married for three years, and they co-parent their nine-and-half-year-old son, Flynn. Miranda wrote, (quote) “I’m so happy for you guys. Can’t wait to meet her.”
