Last month, Jimmy and Marilyn Curcuru of Gloucester, Massachusetts, received an anonymous note, suggesting that they paint their house, going so far as to call it an “eyesore.” Whoever wrote the note didn’t even have the courage to sign it.

Well, there are many reasons Jimmy and Marilyn haven’t been able to keep up with home repairs. Jimmy had a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery — and then developed kidney problems. Marilyn has multiple sclerosis and has been bedridden for about four years. It’s been rough. And, the last thing they needed was to be shamed for not painting their house.

When Jimmy’s daughter, Michelle, heard about the note, she posted it on Facebook — and great things happened.

People stepped up in a big way with donations to help the couple out. They received more than $48,000 in donations for repairs. People offered to paint the house. Even the mayor asked how she could pitch in.

Jimmy and Marilyn feel blessed to know that — even during these difficult times — people are still looking out for each other and helping out any way they can. (Insider)
