Maia White was working her usual job as a cashier at a Food Lion grocery store in Greenville, North Carolina, when an announcement came over the speakers in the store, asking if anyone knew CPR.
A woman had passed out in aisle number eight. She was turning blue and didn’t have a pulse.
Luckily for this customer, Maia is a recent nursing graduate. When she realized she could help, she didn’t hesitate.
She found the customer and started performing CPR. All of her training and education paid off, as Maia was able to save the woman’s life.
And for her bravery and quick action, Maia was presented with an Outstanding Performance Award from the company.
