Joe Kosakowski of Boise, Idaho, recently celebrated a birthday — and had a very special birthday wish to help others in his community.

As the CEO of a recruiting company, Joe gave his employees money and asked them to purchase groceries for people they found in line at the grocery store.

One of those people in line happened to be Julie Weaver, who was purchasing a big cart filled with stuff for a group home — which would have cost $415. But not that day. Joe’s special birthday wish covered the bill.

Joe ended up spending $5,000 on groceries for surprised shoppers. And, he wanted to keep it a secret. But, of course, that’s hard to do today, especially with social media.

But even though Joe couldn’t fly under the radar with his generosity, many families got an unexpected boost because of his birthday.
