Last Sunday, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had one of the best games of his career. But, he did so with a heavy heart — as his grandmother, Patricia Allen, had passed away just a day before.
Fans of the Buffalo Bills — who are famously loyal to their team — wanted to honor Patricia, so they started sending donations to the Oishei Children’s Hospital, which Josh has worked closely with since arriving in Buffalo.
Many of the donations were $17 because that the uniform number Josh wears.
Amazingly, fans have donated over $200,000 — and the donations continue to pour in.
The generosity means a lot to Josh, as he has fond memories of his “grammy,” who — as her family explains — “lived for Sundays to watch her grandson.”
