When Hanna and Mark Gleiberman of San Diego, California, realized their city didn’t have a fully inclusive and accessible playground, they wanted to do something about it.
So, they donated $1 million to get one built.
The playground that their donation is making possible offers a bunch of opportunities that support the development of the kids and families who will use it.
Not only will it meet the physical, mental, social and sensory needs of kids — but it will also allow adults with disabilities to play with their kids in a fully accessible way.
Hanna — who is a former teacher — says she and Mark were inspired to make the donation in order to boost the self-esteem and self-image of kids, and enhance friendships between non-disabled and disabled people of all ages.
