TODAY IS:

World Plumbing Day: A good day to thank a plumber.

In her interview with OprahMeghan Markle admitted that she never researched anything about Prince Harry before she started dating him. Do you go into blind dates … well … blind? Or, do you research the person before your first date?

According to a survey, 38% of Americans research their dates, as opposed to 11% who say they never do. Of those who do research their dates, most people (31%) spend at least 15 minutes googling them and digging into their social media feeds. 29% said they spend 30 minutes researching their potential dates, and 16% spend 45 minutes or more.

What are they looking for in their searches? On average, women are most interested in spotting any red flags with criminal background and work history, while men are most concerned with pictures and personal interests. 40% of those surveyed said they’ve canceled a date after researching them. Food hangovers … Have you ever woken up with a food hangover? Apparently, that’s a thing, and according to a new survey, it’s pretty common. 60% of those surveyed said they regularly wake up with food hangovers or stomach cramps due to late-night snacking. (SWNS)

No more normal … Unilever, the parent company of popular beauty brand Dove, just announced that they are dropping the word “normal” from all their products and advertising because, according to research, the term makes potential buyers feel excluded. This is part of their Positive Beauty initiative, which also commits to not photoshopping models to change their shape, size, or skin color in any of their ads. According to the study, 8 in 10 people between the ages of 18 and 35 felt the word “normal” on their personal care items made them feel excluded. What is normal hair or normal skin anyway? (NY Times)
