Selena Gomez fans can relax — she’s not retiring from music anytime soon.
In her Vogue cover interview she admitted, “It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously. I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’”
As if that weren’t enough, she added, “‘Lose You to Love Me’ I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people it still wasn’t enough. I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”
But in a new L.A. Times interview, Selena says retirement is a ways off because the first thing she plans to do after pandemic restrictions are lifted is to head to Brazil to make up for the canceled Latin American leg of her Revival tour in 2016. “South America’s where I would start, because we missed it last time, and because that’s where my heart is.”
Gomez’s new Spanish-language EP Revelacion is out now.
