Dan Reynolds says there’s one big influence on the upcoming Imagine Dragons album — ayahuasca.
That’s a plant-based hallucinogenic tea from South America, and Reynolds says he tried it for the first time with his wife just after they’d put a halt to their divorce proceedings two years ago. He tells Rolling Stone, “It was really transformative for me, in helping me to see things that don’t matter and letting go of those things and seeing things that do matter and embracing those things. So that really transformed this whole record for me.”
But he’s not pushing it on anyone. “Obviously, I’m not looking to come out and be, like, Mr. Ayahuasca or something. But it was really transformative for me. It helped me to make leaps and strides in my mental health.”

If you ever need a place to stay while in Southern California, just hit up your buddy Adam Levine. The Maroon 5 frontman has purchased a Montecito, California mansion for $22.7 million. The estate was designed in 1923 and sits on five acres. The mansion has five bedrooms, a five car garage, a guest house, a fireplace, a pool, a movie theater, a wine cellar, a putting green, a creek, fountains and a tennis court.
