Andrea Lessing was working at a Goodwill store in Norman, Oklahoma, when she felt something unusual hidden in a pair of donated sweaters.
At first, she thought the sweaters were holding books. Then, she realized they weren’t books — but instead were stacks of envelopes filled with $100 bills inside them.
Somebody had accidentally dropped off $42,000 in cash.
Luckily, the envelopes also had paperwork that identified who owned the money — and the store was able to return it.
The owner of the envelopes ended up surprising Andrea with $1,000 from the money she found.
Andrea appreciated the gesture and plans to spend some of her reward on an “amazing birthday party” for her six-year-old daughter. (The Norman Transcript)
