In Springdale, Arkansas, a charity group called Samaritan’s Feet gave away more than 700 pairs of shoes to students at 18 elementary schools in the area.
Samaritan’s Feet worked with the schools to sign up the kids — and then planned the event at a local furniture store.
The hundreds of families that showed up received free shoes and socks — as well as a note of encouragement and a “hope tote,” which included a toiletry items as well as facemasks.
Organizers said they wanted to serve the kids and help them feel loved. They also hope the event inspires others to help because now, more than ever, it’s an important time to be taking care of your community. (KHBS-TV)
