Cecil Lockhart of Welch, West Virginia, recently passed away at the age of 95, but his legacy lives on, thanks to his decision to become an organ donor.
According to the Center for Organ Recovery and Education, Cecil became the oldest organ donor on record in the United States when a successful surgery resulted in a woman in her 60s get a boost in life — and a new liver.
The woman is reportedly “doing well.” And, friends and family of Cecil aren’t surprised that he continues to help others. They describe him as a “generous person” and are proud to see that his legacy of generosity continues even after his long, happy life. (People)
