Employees of a Waffle House in Center Point, Alabama, went the extra mile to make sure their co-worker could attend and enjoy his high school graduation.
Last week, Timothy Harrison showed up for work at the Waffle House, confusing his manager and co-workers. It was the day of his graduation. Not a day to be at work.
When his manager, Cedric Hampton, asked Timothy what was going on, Timothy explained that he didn’t have a ride across town to the ceremony, so his plan was to just skip it.
That’s when Cedric and the rest of the crew sprung into action.
One employee drove Timothy over to the high school to get his cap and gown. Other employees went to a clothing store to buy Timothy a new pair of pants, a dress shirt and a tie.
They got Timothy ready and in the right place, just in time for the commencement.
Timothy was thankful that those close to him wanted him to succeed, explaining that putting on the special clothes for the ceremony made him feel like “a million dollars” and that it was “the best feeling.” (BoingBoing)
