New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Jennifer Hudson will headline an August concert in Central Park marking the city’s comeback from the coronavirus pandemic. De Blasio said Thursday that the event will be one of the greatest Central Park concerts in history. De Blasio announced last month that producer Clive Davis would recruit an all-star lineup for a Central Park concert. No exact date has been announced. The mayor says more performers will be announced in the coming weeks. Springsteen brought his Broadway show back last weekend.

 

Bruno Mars tells CBS that his poor upbringing helped shape who he is today. “We had it all, you know. We had each other and it never felt like it was the end of the world. “It’s alright we don’t got electric today. It’s alright. It’s temporary.” saying, “Well, we gonna figure this out.” Maybe that’s why I have this mentality when it comes to the music. ‘Cause I know I’m gonna figure– I’m gonna figure it out, just give me some time.”

 

Camila Cabello previewed her big screen debut. She stars in the live-action classic, Cinderella. Amazon released the trailer on Wednesday. (Entertainment Tonight)

Idina Menzel plays her stepmother while Billy Porter takes the gender-bending role of Cinderella’s fairy godmother. The chief at Amazon Studios said, (quote) “The filmmaking team has taken this beloved fairytale and revamped it with a fresh, empowering perspective.” (Deadline)
There are murmurs that Camila struggled in the role. The celebrity blog Crazy Days and Night reported in January why Cinderella went straight to streaming. (quote) “The producers hope it won’t have a full box office release because it will be a huge flop.”
