Britney Spears formally petitioned the court to oust her father. Her new lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, filed on Friday a 127-page document detailing why Jamie Spears is the wrong person to oversee Britney’s finances and showbiz contracts.
According to the filing, Britney’s estate is worth $69 million. However, the lawyer suggests that dad syphoned much of her fortune into his bank account.
Rosengart also identified the accountant they wish to replace her father. Jason Rubin has expertise in probing financial records for misconduct, which might raise eyebrows among Britney’s relatives.
The court will consider Rubin at a hearing in December—after Britney’s 40th birthday. She plans to attend. Once a conservator has replaced Jamie Spears, then the lawyer will work toward gaining Britney’s freedom. At the current pace, it may happen in 2022 at the earliest. (The Hollywood Reporter)

A new live-action Pokemon series is in development at Netflix, Variety reports. Lucifer‘s Joe Henderson is attached to write and executive produce. Though there’s no word on the plot, sources say the project would be akin to the Detective Pikachu film starring Ryan Reynolds.
