Ben Tuff of Jamestown, Rhode Island, completed a 19-mile swim to raise money for a charity group that works to keep oceans clean.

Ben started his nine-hour journey on Block Island, which is located south of mainland Rhode Island, and finished his swimming adventure at Beavertail State Park in the city of Jamestown.

Not surprisingly, the swim was not easy. The water was chilly. Ben was exhausted. And, he admits that he was “freezing” the last mile-and-a-half.

But nothing stopped him from completing his mission and raising nearly $100,000 for the non-profit group Clean Ocean Access.

While Ben will take some time to recover, he’s already started thinking ahead about another big swim — maybe swimming 20 miles to Martha’s Vineyard the next time he attempts something big. (The Providence Journal)
