9 Year Old Girl Donates 3,000 Stuffed Animals to First Responders
A nine-year-old girl in Louisiana named Lila has made it her personal mission to make sure that any kid going through a tough time has something soft to hold onto. Inspired by her dad who works in law enforcement, she started a charity called “Lila’s Patrol Pals” back in April, collecting stuffed animals for first responders to hand out to children during emergencies.
Lila and her family just rolled up to the Sheriff’s Office, hauling in 20 massive boxes of toys. The deputies said the whole department turned into a bunch of excited kids themselves, crowding around to see the delivery. In just a few months, Lila was able to collect and donate a staggering 3000 stuffed animals across 27 different police and sheriff departments in Louisiana.
And she’s not stopping there. Lila says once she feels she’s done enough to help first responders in her home state, she’s setting her sights on Texas next.
