A Restaurant Owner Quietly Donates 22,000 Eggs to Seniors on Fixed Incomes

A restaurant owner in Durant, Oklahoma, is quietly making a big difference in his community — one carton of eggs at a time.

Wu Ye, who owns Asian Gourmet, recently donated 22,000 eggs to a local senior center to help older residents facing rising grocery costs.

Friends say this generosity is nothing new for Wu, who has spent the last 16 years building deep ties in town and regularly helping neighbors — without seeking attention.

People close to him say he’s the type to trim trees for elderly residents, feed homeless neighbors, and quietly support local groups without ever making a fuss about it.

“He doesn’t tell everybody what he’s doing,” said family friend Dawn Boarman. “He just takes that silent, hey, thank you. Appreciate you.”

And these days, with his donation of eggs, Wu is helping his neighbors get through the day with the gift of food — and one less thing for them to worry about.
