A UK Lottery Winner Shares Her Winnings With Her Neighbors

A woman in the U.K. who just won the lottery is making bigger headlines for what she did next.

48-year-old Honorata Jamrozik won a million pounds (about $1.3 million) in the UK Omaze Monthly Millionaire Draw, and the first thing she did with her new riches is send her neighbors on a fun family vacation.

Jamrozik, a foster mom from Kent, says helping others is the best part of her windfall, calling her neighbors “like family” after 14 years living side by side. She gave them 5,000 pounds so they could finally take their first family vacation.

She says, “Good neighbors are one of life’s true blessings. They have been wonderful since the day we moved in, and they feel like family to us. Being able to give them money for a holiday so they can make some magical memories together makes me so happy.”

She plans to use the rest of the money to return to fostering children and support loved ones — turning her big win into a chance to give back in more ways than one.
