Bridgman Public Library raising funds for building improvements
To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Bridgman Public Library is seeking to raise $60,000 for some building improvements.
Library Director Terri Hebert tells us the BPL 60/60 Campaign will help ensure the Bridgman Public Library remains the heart of the community by enabling it to rearrange some things in its building to better accommodate patrons.
“Just to make sure that the spaces that we have are functioning properly, are up to date, are pleasing, accessible to all those types of improvements,” Hebert said.
For example, Hebert says they’re planning to make some changes to the children’s area.
“We are looking to rearrange, open up a space a little bit to provide more room for additional books, for creative spaces, for areas that children could sit and read or work on different types of activities.”
Hebert says how much they can raise will help to determine how much they do.
Donors giving $100+ will have their names engraved on a plaque to be displayed in the library once all is finished. The campaign will run throughout the summer, leading up to the library’s official 60th anniversary celebration on August 1.
