At least one member of Britney Spears‘s inner circle is all in on the idea of letting her choose her own conservator — and hints she might get back to work if that happens.
The anonymous source tells the New York Post that Brit’s life would be “drastically better” if Jodi Montgomery permanently replaced dad Jamie Spears in the role. According to the insider, “Britney trusts Jodi Montgomery  — she’s really great. If Jodi becomes her conservator, things would drastically change for Britney — she’s not working because of her dad. She has said that as long as a dad is in control of her life, she’s not working.”
Montgomery has been handling some of Britney’s affairs since Jamie suffered a near-fatal medical setback in the fall of 2019.

Lady Gaga is inviting everyone over to her place for a big creative jam session.
The superstar pulled back the curtain on Thursday to reveal The Studio by Klarna x Haus Labs, a new Los Angeles-based creative space that will be open to everyone. Gaga promises visitors will be able to use a sound stage and rehearsal rooms and is even offering to share a room full of instruments and gear that she’s used on stage.
Since it is L.A., the space also includes an “aura generator” to help the flow of those creative juices. Gaga and her partners will be offering grants to encourage the work of the artists using the space. (Billboard)

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello got an extremely unwelcome visit.
According to TMZ, the couple was chilling at home when they heard a commotion and spotted the intruders breaking in through a window. When the crooks saw the coast wasn’t clear, they bolted after grabbing one important item — the keys to Shawn’s Mercedes SUV. which they used as a getaway vehicle.
Los Angeles cops are investigating the crime, but have made no arrests.

Britney Spears‘s troubled personal life took another turn on Wednesday — with her lawyer filing a petition to put her “temporary” conservator in permanent control of her affairs.
Brit’s attorney formally requested that Jodi Montgomery, who’s been making decisions for the singer since September of 2019, be made her permanent conservator — icing dad Jamie Spears out of the picture. Montgomery initially took over after Jamie fell ill and was hospitalized for several months.
The petition asks that Jamie Spears resign from controlling Britney’s day-to-day decisions. He may continue to look after her estate, but Jodi Montgomery would make calls about Britney’s ability to work, her rights to visit her teenage sons and possible control of a tell-all interview. (Variety)

Bono is one of the voices in a new animated Web series that spotlights the limited access to the COVID-19 vaccines in the world’s poorest countries.

Bono tells Rolling Stone, “Beyond the animation and subversive humor, you’ll see that Pandemica is the worst place to be in the COVID-19 pandemic. While Pandemica may not be a real place, for billions of people around the world it’s all too real. Vaccines now bring the hope of a way through, but it won’t be a way out unless every country on the planet has access to enough vaccines. If this vaccine isn’t everywhere, then this pandemic isn’t going anywhere.”

Taylor Swift will take her blast-from-the past release effort to a new level this week — by dropping a tune she recorded for her Fearless album, but never released.
Tay took to Twitter to spill the tea about “You All Over Me,” which she just revamped with the help of Maren Morris and her Folklore collaborator Aaron Dessner. She wrote, “One thing I’ve been loving about these From the Vault songs is that they’ve never been heard, so I can experiment, play, and even include some of my favorite artists.”
“You All Over Me (Taylor’s Version)” drops tonight (Thursday) at midnight.

Ed Sheeran got emotional when introducing a new song Wednesday night — because he debuted the tune at a memorial service for a guy who helped him get his career off the ground.
Ed performed “Visiting Hours” before 7000 people who’d gathered at an arena in Melbourne, Australia to remember Australian music business legend Michael Gudinski. He told the group, “In lockdown I was able to have a guitar for quarantine, and I always find the best way to process stuff is to write songs, be it good news, bad news or whatever, and here is a song I finished last week.”
Sheeran, who completed a 14-day quarantine in Melbourne in order to appear at the service, also performed “Castle on the Hill,” which he described as Gudinski’s favorite of his songs. (Billboard)

Madonna fans may want to think twice before complimenting the Material Mom’s hot bod — since she’s been accused of “borrowing” the body of a much younger woman for a social media post.
Artist Amelia Goldie put up a now-deleted TikTok video accusing Madge of photoshopping her own head onto her body during the 2015 run-up to Rebel Heart. Goldie tells Vice, “I’m surprised it’s still up, actually. I told my parents and they still think it’s a joke and can’t comprehend how or why it’s happened. It’s hilarious.”
Goldie says she’s reached out to Madonna’s reps but hasn’t heard back.

Millions of people want to hear Britney Spears get back to singing — and her mom is one of them.
Brit posted a throwback video of herself belting out “You Got It All,” a hit by ’80s hitmakers The Jets, and captioned it with a sweet note from Lynne. She wrote, “Geez … My mom sent this to me and reminded me that I can sing!!!! She said ‘You never sing anymore… You need to again!!!!'”
Talking about the obscure clip, Britney added, “I’ve actually never watched this performance… It’s definitely from a while ago!!!! It’s from one of the first trips I took alone… Mostly I just remember saying ‘WOW Singapore.'”

Meghan Trainor‘s bubbly personality helped propel her up the charts — and that charm just landed her a starring role in a new sitcom.
According to Variety, Meghan has signed a massive deal with NBC, which will bring her to prime-time in her very own show. Details about the series are scarce — there’s no title or plot yet — but it’s said to be the first of many projects featuring the gal behind “It’s All About That Bass.”
Meghan has some experience making people laugh — with voice roles in the animated films Smurfs: The Lost Village and Playmobil: The Movie.

Pop singer Lizzo is looking for a few good — and plus-sized — women for her new reality show.

As for qualifications? The casting call says “Come as you are and be sure to bring good energy — and that ass. Got the juice? APPLY NOW.”

Taylor Swift tells Elle magazine that she loves to cook. “I’ve always cooked a LOT, but I found three recipes I know I’ll be making at dinner parties for life: Ina Garten’s Real Meatballs and Spaghetti (I just use packaged bread crumbs and only ground beef for meat), Nigella Lawson’s Mughlai Chicken, and Jamie Oliver’s Chicken Fajitas with Molé Sauce. If you were watching the Grammys late at night on CBS on Sunday, you might have caught the scandalous performance of “WAP” by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. The song’s performance has really stirred up some new controversy.
TMZ reports that there have been at least 80 complaints to the FCC, CBS, and The Grammys so far about their racy *Grammy* night performance of “WAP.” Viewers sounded off about everything from lyrical content to wardrobe to the set design.
Specific complaints included a Colorado viewer saying it looked like “they were dancing in a strip club,” and someone from Texas who was offended by their clothing — or lack thereof, saying Megan was “barely dressed in a thong” with “naked look-alike legs.”
Considering 10 million people watched the show, 80 complaints doesn’t seem to be rattling any of the parties involved. By comparison, when Janet Jackson experienced her wardrobe malfunction showing her breast on the CBS telecast of the Super Bowl halftime performance in February of 2004, over 540,000 complaints were registered.

Taylor Swift tells Elle magazine that she has learned not to judge people based on first impressions. “First impressions actually aren’t everything. It’s impressive when someone can charm people instantly and own the room, but what I know now to be more valuable about a person is not their charming routine upon meeting them (I call it a “solid first 15”), but the layers of a person you discover in time. Are they honest, self-aware, and slyly funny at the moments you least expect it? Do they show up for you when you need them? Do they still love you after they’ve seen you broken? Or after they’ve walked in on you having a full conversation with your cats as if they’re people? These are things a first impression could never convey.”

Another Britney Spears documentary is in the works.
Deadline reports that this latest look at the pop icon’s life is being produced by the BBC and anchored by journalist Mobeen Azhar. He traveled from Spears’ hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, to Los Angeles and interviewed numerous fans and people close to the singer. A premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but the BBC is looking to sell the broadcast rights to the film, tentatively called Britney, overseas.
This documentary follows Framing Britney Spears, which aired earlier this year on FX and Hulu.

There’s never been any talk about a Bruce Springsteen bio-pic in the vein of Queen‘s Bohemian Rhapsody or Elton John‘s Rocketman. But if there is one, Nick Jonas of The Jonas Brothers wants a shot at the role.
Jonas tells Zane Lowe, “Growing up in New Jersey, Bruce obviously has a special place in my heart and my creative life, and it is a dream of mine…to play him in a movie one day and tell his story in some way that would be honoring to him and that he could be involved with.”
Jonas has carved out a decent acting career alongside his day job in music. He’s been in two Jumanji films and Midway, and had a regular role on the series Kingdom.

Tina Turner is saying goodbye to fans. In her new HBO documentary, ‘TINA,’ the 81-year-old says she’s ready to spend the final chapter of her life out of the public’s eye. A painting by Ed Sheeran has brought in a little more than $70,000 in a raffle hosted by a local English cancer charity.
Sheeran says the artwork, titled “Splash Planet,” is “kind of Jackson Pollocky.” It was created during a 30-day stretch where he was doing “a canvas a day” by “flicking… House paint” in layers. “Splash Planet” had previously been used in the cover art for his one-off “Afterglow” single. Sheeran drew the winning raffle ticket (yesterday) Monday. According to Britain’s NME“a fan on the U.S. East Coast” won, and will benefit Cancer Campaign in Suffolk.

Have we finally outgrown the idea of spending multiple hours watching celebrities congratulate themselves?  Sunday’s “Grammys” scored 8.8 million viewers . . . about HALF the number of people who tuned in last year.

That’s a plant-based hallucinogenic tea from South America, and Reynolds says he tried it for the first time with his wife just after they’d put a halt to their divorce proceedings two years ago. He tells Rolling Stone, “It was really transformative for me, in helping me to see things that don’t matter and letting go of those things and seeing things that do matter and embracing those things. So that really transformed this whole record for me.”
But he’s not pushing it on anyone. “Obviously, I’m not looking to come out and be, like, Mr. Ayahuasca or something. But it was really transformative for me. It helped me to make leaps and strides in my mental health.”

In her Vogue cover interview she admitted, “It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously. I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’”
As if that weren’t enough, she added, “‘Lose You to Love Me’ I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people it still wasn’t enough. I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. So much for Adele and Simon Konecki‘s divorce agreement being kept confidential. One week after a judge signed off, their settlement was unsealed and published by TMZ.

Following her removal from a mural on the outer wall of Legend’s Corner in downtown Nashville, Taylor Swift is now getting a bit of artistic real estate all to herself.
Tim Davis, who created the collage of iconic country stars outside of Legends honky tonk, replaced Taylor’s image with Brad Paisley some months ago. But according to TMZ, he’s working on a piece focused solely on Taylor. Allegedly, she was removed from the Legends’ mural because of her jump into pop music.

Madonna may be incredible on stage, but in the audience, she’s pretty awful.
That’s the word from Broadway star Alan Cumming, who became great pals with the Material Mom after a rocky start at one of his shows. We thought she might come backstage but she didn’t and I thought, ‘Oh, she hated it, how awful.’ Then this big man came into my room and said he was Madonna’s driver and she wanted me to go to dinner with her.”
The cheeky actor brought that up at one of Madge’s Madame X shows last year. “When she was doing her concerts, I got free tickets. There was a bit when she sits down next to a member of the audience and it’s usually a famous person and she has a little chat. Grammy-winning electronic act Justice is looking for some justice — because they say Justin Bieber “borrowed” their logo for the cover of his new album.

We tried to set up a call between Bieber’s team and our designer, but the call was never completed. No one ever mentioned an album called Justice or a logo that says Justice.”

You shall see how I saw the world through my eyes, and there are a lot of things that nobody ever knew about. It is a million moments, you know – a million moments that change your life in one day. There are things in the book that could never be in the film.”

Lady Gaga’s two French bulldogs were found safe and sound on Friday night, two days after they were stolen by dognappers who shot the star’s dogwalker.
According to Los Angeles police, a woman who was not connected to the thieves brought the dogs to the LAPD’s Olympic Community Police Station after seeing them tied to a pole in an alley.
Gaga had offered a $500,000 reward for their return, but it wasn’t immediately known if the woman will receive the money.
According to TMZ, there’s evidence to suggest the dognappers may not have known they were Gaga’s pooches.
The star, who’s in Rome filming a movie, said Friday that she was “heartbroken” over the loss of her beloved dogs.
The dogwalker, Ryan Fischer, is expected to make a full recovery.

Taylor Swift is ticked off at the makers of a Netflix sitcom, and she’s not ready to shake it off.
The star was turned into a punchline on the season finale of Ginny and Georgia, when one character asks another if she has broken up her with her boyfriend, to which she replies: “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.”
Tay wasn’t laughing. In fact, she hit Twitter to write, “Hey Ginny and Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back.”
She also slammed the streaming service, which she worked with on her 2020 documentary Miss Americana, saying, “After Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you.”

Bruno Mars is putting his fashion sense to the test by introducing his first clothing line.
He will team with classic sportswear brand Lacoste on a line called Ricky Regal — which happens to be one of Bruno’s alter-ego names. The 25-piece line looks back to the late 1970s for inspiration, with plenty of bold colors and wild graphics.
Mars says, “I’ve been very fortunate to have been asked to do collaborations in the past, but it always came with guidelines. Lacoste was the first and only brand that said, ‘Bruno, we want you to make this truly yours.'”
Right now, Ricky Regal is available in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, with a national roll-out expected in the spring. (WWD)

Kelly Clarkson has been trying to turn a big negative into a positive — by using her divorce as inspiration for new songs.
Kel tells Entertainment Tonight that she’s really thrown herself into writing during the messy split from Brandon Blackstock. She says, “I have written like 60 songs, it is an insane amount of getting it out. I think that’s a blessing in itself. I don’t know how anybody, I’ll just be real with you, goes through grief like divorce, any kind of grief, any kind of loss, without having an outlet like this.”
She adds that we may not hear some of the most difficult tunes. “They’re just difficult decisions to put those out because they’re so personal. I hate that I had to go through ‘Because of You’ or ‘Piece by Piece.’ Certain songs that I’ve written certainly have shaped me, but have been really hard.”

Taylor Swift is giving a thumbs-up to the LGBTQ Equality Act — and keeping her fingers crossed that it will officially become a law.
The bill, which passed the House on Thursday, would create a federal law against discrimination on the basis of “sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.” It goes to the Senate next, and Tay tweeted “Fingers crossed and praying that the Senate will see trans and lgbtq rights as basic human rights.”
Taylor’s been all about the cause for a while: She ended her “You Need to Calm Down” video by asking fans to sign the petition, writing, “Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally.”

Stevie Nicks tells CBS that music will always be her first love. “When I’m 90 years old. I don’t wanna be laying in my big, gorgeous bedroom going like, ‘Ugh, I’m so broken-hearted that I didn’t find the one. And then I would have to answer myself and say, ‘Yes, but you did find several “the ones” who you wrote really great songs about and that’s why you’re living in this absolutely spectacular house with everything that you want and anything that you could possibly wanna buy,'”

A man who’d been dog-sitting for Lady Gaga was ambushed late Wednesday night by a crew of creeps who shot him and stole two of the three pups he was walking.
Ryan Fischer was found “conscious but barely breathing” outside his West Hollywood home according to cops. A police report says that two of Gaga’s French bulldogs, Koji and Gustavo, were stolen. A third, Miss Asia, meanwhile, ran away and was later recovered by police.
The attackers fled the scene in a white BMW and are still at large. Gaga is currently in Italy on a film shoot. (Daily Mail)
TMZ reports that Gaga is offering a $500,000 reward for the return of her dogs, “no questions asked.”  The dogwalker, Ryan Fischer, is in the hospital, but is expected to recover fully.

Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds and his wife, Aja Volkman, have donated his childhood home to the cause of expanding the reach of a non-profit that runs community homes for LGBTQ youth.
Reynolds teamed with a group of others that includes Apple and the owners of the Utah Jazz. The campaign’s name, “$8 million, 8 houses,” is its mission statement. It will allow the Utah-based organization Encircle to construct new homes in Utah, Arizona, Idaho and Nevada to go with the three it already operates and one under construction in Utah.
The Las Vegas home where Reynolds grew up is expected to fetch $1 million. Jazz owners Ryan and Ashley Smith will pitch in $2 million and Apple another $1 million plus “products that promote digital connection, creativity and education.” (Billboard)

Columbus Short, a backing dancer who had a brief romantic fling with Britney Spears, says the star’s parents dropped the n-word when trying to convince her to drop him.
Short, who says Brit pursued him before they got busy back in 2003, says that he was cuddled up next to her when he overheard the abuse over speaker phone. He tells the Inside Hollywood YouTube show, “I was next to [Britney] while she was on the phone with them crying while she had it on speaker. [They asked] why are you [sleeping with] that [n-word]?” And that, “Britney looked at me so apologetically, knowing I’d heard it. I shook my head and didn’t say anything, because what was there to say?”
Spears’ mom, Lynne, disputed Short’s account. She tells the New York Post, “Those terrible words are not remotely in my vocabulary. I would never say that to anyone, much less my daughter. Ever.”

Taylor Swift‘s new version of  “Love Story” sits atop Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart.
She’s grateful to her fans for getting the song to debut at number-one. “They’re the ones who emboldened me to reclaim my music and they really showed up this week to see it through. It blows me away that they’ve sent a song to number-one that had its first life over a decade ago. I couldn’t be happier that it happened now, and in this way.”
The new take on the song joins Dolly Parton‘s versions of “I Will Always Love You” as the only two re-recorded songs to hit the top of the chart. (Billboard)

And Super Bowl half time artist The Weeknd tells Billboard magazine that he still believes the Grammy Awards are corrupt for not nominating him this year. “I use a sucker punch as an analogy. Because it just kind of hit me out of nowhere. I definitely felt … I felt things. I don’t know if it was sadness or anger. I think it was just confusion. I just wanted answers. Like, ‘What happened?’ We did everything right, I think. I’m not a cocky person. I’m not arrogant. People told me I was going to get nominated. The world told me. Like, ‘This is it; this is your year.’ We were all ver

John Mayer recently watched Framing Britney Spears, and says the documentary left him feeling both depressed and fortunate.
John, who hit big around the same time Brit did, tells Sirius XM host Andy Cohen, “To see the sadness in this human being, I was on the edge of tears five times, because if you understand what this business-slash industry-slash-lifestyle does to a person is to have infinite grace for those who struggle with it.”
Mayer added that he was spared the same bad treatment by the press and the industry because of his gender. “I came out OK… I have a very strong feeling that part of that is because I’m a man. A lot of these things that happen to female performers is endemic to being female. If you’re a man, you’re an outlaw. If you’re a woman, you’re kind of crazy. And when I watched that through that lens, my heart just ached the whole time.”

Ellie Goulding just revealed that she’s pregnant — seven months pregnant.
The British singer broke the news during an interview with Vogue, adding that she purposely avoided public events since August so she could keep the pregnancy a secret. She says, “We did the one show. I was pregnant and had no idea. That was [around] the time when [my husband] Caspar and I went away briefly when we were allowed to for our one-year anniversary. It was crazy because it was our one-year anniversary.”
How has the pregnancy has changed her life? “Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human. I want a better word than womanly, [but] — I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it.”

Don Henley tells The Dallas Morning News that Kenny Rogers helped launch his career. “Kenny was a generous and caring man, a wise mentor to so many of us. Fifty years ago, The Gambler took a gamble on me and my first band from small-town Texas, and his big-hearted support launched many careers, including mine. He also gave me some of the best career advice I ever got: ‘You’d better be nice to the people you meet on the way up, because you’re going to meet those same people on the way back down.’”

Daft Punk have called it quits, and they said goodbye with a video that’s as weird and mysterious as you might expect.
The duo shared an eight-minute video titled “Epilogue,” in which they appear in their usual robot costumes. They stand together in a desert landscape, until one takes off his jacket to reveal an energy pack inside. The other touches a button on the pack, causing the first guy to explode into flames as their moody song “Touch” plays in the background.
Daft Punk rose to North American stardom in 2013 with the smash “Get Lucky.” They won a Grammy the next year for their Random Access Memories album. (Variety)

The Jonas Brothers reunion has hit a roadblock. The youngest brother, Nick Jonas, is returning to a solo career.
This coming weekend, Nick will guest host Saturday Night Live and perform a new song, “Spaceman.”
Because of Nick’s priorities, the Jonas Brothers nixed a new album. It had been available for pre-order. They recorded enough music last year, but they won’t release it if Nick can’t promote it.
A showbiz insider confirmed, (quote) “The Jonas Brothers’ reunion is effectively over for now. They had an album ready to go but then the pandemic happened. Realistically, it will be a while before they do music as a trio again.” (The Sun, UK)

Lady Gaga talks a lot about honesty and kindness, but one of her former employees says she got fired with an impersonal E-mail.
Creative director Laurieann Gibson shaped the packaging of Gaga’s tours and artwork from the Fame Monster days through Monster Ball. But when she began working with other people, including Katy Perry and Naomi Campbell, she got the boot without warning.
In her new book Dance Your Dance: 8 Steps to Unleash Your Passion and Live, Gibson reveals, “Some of the people around her thought I shouldn’t be working with other artists. They thought that I was taking too much spotlight — even though I didn’t want her spotlight. Just as I realized this chatter was happening, Gaga fired me. In an E-mail. I’m not even sure she wrote it herself.”

The fallout from Justin Timberlake‘s too-little, too-late apology to Janet Jackson continues — now that a writer dusted off an old tweet in which J.T. mocked the idea of saying “sorry.”
Journalist Ernest Owens re-posted a 2016 chat that started when he threw shade at Justin for appropriating black music and asking him to “apologize to Janet, too.” Justin quickly clapped back, “Oh, you sweet soul. The more you realize that we are the same, the more we can have a conversation. Bye.”
Justin tacked his Janet apology on to one he offered to Britney Spears in the wake of his creepy behavior, shown in the Framing Britney Spears documentary.
