Ed Sheeran is gearing up for the release of a new album, but according to his manager, there might be multiple albums coming from the chart-topping star.
Speaking with Variety, Ed’s manager, Stuart Camp, confirmed that “there will be an album this year,” and added that he and Ed have set aside “most of 2023 to tour North America.”  And since he’s obviously planning to be on the road for a couple of years, Camp says, Ed may decide to release another album during that time.
“We’ll be touring – if we’re allowed to – for two to three years, and there may be more records in that period,” says Camp. “If we tour for that long, I’d imagine there will be two albums within that cycle. Because this record’s taken so long to make, we genuinely have a lot of songs, so it could happen relatively quickly.”
Camp boasts, “If [Ed] wanted to, he could literally release an album of acoustic ballads tomorrow!”
As for what fans can expect for the album that’s coming out this year, Camp says, “It’ll both surprise and comfort people. There’s some normal Ed songs, but there’s also some more sonically adventurous ones as well.”
A new single, the follow up to the current hit “Bad Habits,” is due in the fall, Camp says.
Earlier last week it was revealed that Kelly Clarkson has been ordered to shell out nearly $200,000 a month to ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. But a new report from People claims that agreement is only temporary.
A source tells the mag that the court order — which has Kelly paying $150,000 per month in spousal support and $45,601 per month in child support for their two children — “is strictly temporary support until a final settlement is worked out.”
The order, handed down by a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday, also has the singer paying $1.25 million toward Blackstock’s attorney fees.
Kelly and Brandon married in 2013 and share seven-year-old daughter River Rose and five-year-old son Remington Alexander. Their split was made public in June 2020.

12-year-old Raphael Bencun has already lived quite an exciting life. He started playing piano as a young boy in France. And when his family moved to Santa Clarita, California, four years ago, he kept playing — and kept getting better and better.
Earlier this year, he was inspired to hold a virtual piano concert with the idea of both buying some stuff for himself and donating some money to charity. Originally, he was thinking of splitting the money 50/50.
As Raphael prepared for the concert — and publicized it — money started pouring in. He raised so much that he didn’t feel right keeping any of it, so he donated it all — more than $2,000 — to Children’s Hunger Fund.
Following the concert, the family went to Children’s Hunger Fund to spend some time volunteering. This was especially fun for Raphael, who explained that it felt “really good” to help the charity where he was sending his money.
Raphael’s piano teacher calls him “incredibly hard-working, diligent and self-motivated.” With those traits, many people in his life will be looking on to see what other great things he accomplishes in the months and years ahead. (The Signal)

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard fought while married and, more than four years after their divorce, they’re still feuding in court.
Depp has won the most recent legal battle. A New York judge recently ruled that a charity must unseal documents that pertain to donations by his ex-wife. In the divorce settlement, she pledged to donate the $7 million awarded to her from Depp to the American Civil Liberties Union and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Depp’s lawyer has called her promise a “calculated and manipulative lie.” They believe Amber’s alleged deception contributed to Depp losing last year’s libel case, in which a court agreed a British tabloid correctly labeled Depp as a “wife beater.”
His legal team feels confident that documentation will prove that Amber never donated $7 million. If true, his court appeals may have a fighting chance. (USA Today)
Bob Odenkirk has made his first public statement since collapsing on the set of Better Call Saul.
The actor confirms he suffered a “small heart attack,” and adds that doctors were able to unblock a clogged artery “without surgery.” Odenkirk says he needs a break to recover, but that he’ll “be back soon.”
The 58-year-old tweeted on Friday and it’s been retweeted nearly 50,000 times (quote) “Hi. It’s Bob. Thank you. To my family and friends who have surrounded me this week. And for the outpouring of love. It’s overwhelming.” (Hollywood Reporter)
Tennis champion Novak Djokovic lost his bronze medal singles match in stunning fashion. Then quit on his mixed-doubles partner. They were schedule to play for the bronze the next day.
In his losing match, Novak smashed one tennis racket and tossed another far into the empty stands. Novak departed Tokyo complaining (quote) “I just didn’t deliver. My level of tennis dropped due to exhaustion — mentally and physically.”
People think Novak might have been talking about Simone’s withdrawal when he said last week (quote) “Pressure is a privilege. If you aim to be at the top of the game, you better learn how to deal with pressure. How to cope with those moments, all the expectations.”
Yet, seemingly forgetting his own words after a poor performance on the tennis court, Novak bolted from the Olympics and left his doubles partner in the lurch. (NBC Sports)

Support for a four-day work week isn’t going away … A California congressman has introduced legislation to reduce the standard five-day, 40-hour work week to a four-day, 32-hour work week. In a press release, Representative Mark Takano wrote, in part: “A shorter workweek would benefit both employers and employees alike … Pilot programs run by governments and businesses across the globe have shown promising results, as productivity climbed and workers reported better work-life balance, less need to take sick days, heightened morale and lower childcare expenses because they had more time with their family and children.”  We’ll see how this progresses … (Forbes)
If you spend a lot of time sitting, it could be affecting your mental health in addition to your physical health. A recent UK study claims that too much sitting can cause anxiety, depression, and other health issues. Since lockdown and the rise of remote work, many of us spend lots of time sitting, more than 8 hours a day. The researchers suggest getting 60 minutes of exercise a day, but it doesn’t have to be at the gym. You can take a walk outside or do some gardening.
Eating healthier and exercising, but still not seeing results on the scale? It could be your rosé all day. A study found that the average drinker in the U.S. takes in 16% of their overall calories from alcohol, but rarely takes those calories into account as part of their diet. Mark Ronson has to play the biggest hits when DJ-ing for a crowd, but there’s one he really dreads having to spin — his own chart-topping single, “Uptown Funk.”
When Britain’s NME asked Ronson to pick “the song I can never hear again,” he immediately pointed the finger at himself. He said “I never listen to my own music at home or in the car, but when I DJ out I play it. I was actually DJing last Saturday night, the first time in a year and a half, and I was dreading playing it.
Ronson went on to explain “I’m riddled with neurosis and anxiety, and I thought it was going to be the moment that people were finally sick of it. I genuinely thought they were going to look up at the DJ booth and say, ‘Really? It’s 2021’. But I played it and there was this mass flooding of the dance floor.”
Rolling Stone magazine just bowed down to Beyonce, by giving her credit for the Best Music Video of all time.
The mag just dropped its list of the 100 greatest clips, and, no surprise, it’s topped by “Formation.” Bey shows up a couple more times, including a number-12 finish with “Single Ladies,” while hubby Jay-Z checks in with his “99 Problems” video. A collaborative song video they’ve performed together also lands at number-29.
The top ten is loaded with classics, including Madonna‘s “Vogue” at number-three, Childish Gambino‘s intense “This Is America” at number-four and Michael Jackson‘s “Billie Jean” at number-ten.
Other big names on the list include Adele, Britney Spears, Missy Elliott, Backstreet Boys, LL Cool J and Duran Duran. And yes, Rick Astley’s rickroll classic “Never Gonna Give You Up” gets a prime spot.
Jay-Z and Will Smith are teaming up, and no it’s not music related.
The two moguls and their respective companies, Roc Nation and Dreamers VC, have joined forces alongside a group of investors to launch a rent-to-own housing program for clients aspiring to build credit and later close on their first homes.
Housing startup Landis will purchase 1000 properties, rent them to the clients, and once they meet all the financial thresholds and applicable commitments, the renters will buy the property from the company at a preset price. Within the two-year program, Landis will also provide the clients with financial coaching. (Bloomberg)

Last month, a heat wave hit Billings, Montana, and temperatures reached over 100 degrees for a number of days.
This ended up being a challenge for the Help for Homeless animal shelter as the staff used fans and sprinklers and anything else they could find to keep the dogs and cats cool in the summer heat.
When Jason Linday — the owner of Patriot Heating and Cooling — learned of the struggle, he stepped up in a big way and donated air conditioning units to the shelter.
Jason says when he first visited the shelter, the temperatures at the shelter were in the 90s. Now that the air conditioning units are installed, everyone — both humans and animals — are comfortable with a cool 77 degrees.
Jason admits that he was inspired to make the donations after seeing the kittens and puppies and explaining, “It’s something I felt inside my heart that I had to take care of.” (KTVQ-TV)

In a surprising move, Scarlett Johansson has sued Disney, claiming that her contract was breached when the company simultaneously released Black Widow on its streaming service and in theaters.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the star argues that “her agreement with Disney’s Marvel Entertainment guaranteed an exclusive theatrical release, and her salary was based in large part on the box-office performance of the film.”
The suit said, “Disney intentionally induced Marvel’s breach of the agreement, without justification, in order to prevent Ms. Johansson from realizing the full benefit of her bargain with Marvel.”
Sources say the decision to put Black Widow on Disney Plus likely cost ScarJo more than $50 million.
In a statement, Disney fired back, saying there was “no merit” to her suit, and that it “is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The company added that it has fully complied with her contract and that the release of Black Widow on Disney Plus “significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20 million she has received to date.”
Simon Cowell’s other singing competition series, The X-Factor, has been canceled after 17 years, according to Page Six.
The British channel ITV confirmed the news and said “there are no current plans for the next series of The X Factor at this stage.”
The last season aired in 2018.
The series has launched the careers of such acts as One Direction, Leona Lewis and Little Mix.
Jean-Claude Van Damme helped a thief get away with millions of dollars worth of jewelry — because of his fame.
According to TMZ, a man held up a high-end store in Paris earlier this week. He allegedly pulled a knife and made off with a “monumental haul” — estimated between $2.4 and $3.5 million — in jewels and gemstones. Then he fled the scene on an electric scooter without a problem.
His clean getaway, officials say, was possible because everyone on the street was distracted by the Bloodsport star, who was inside a nearby optometrist’s office.
Police did get surveillance footage of the getaway and two suspects were eventually arrested.

Britney Spears’ dad is making her sick –and she has a doctor’s note to prove it.
Lawyers for the troubled star filed new paperwork on Wednesday, saying Spears’ “medical team agrees that it is not in the best interest of the Conservatee for Mr. Spears to remain Conservator.”
New attorney Mathew Rosengart added that Jamie Spears has “profited handsomely” from the conservatorship, pointing to the $16,000-per-month salary he draws from his daughter’s estate. (Variety)
Britney Spears‘ former manager has re-entered her life out of nowhere — by leaking decade-old e-mails in which she begged to be free from her dad’s grasp.
Sam Lutfi, who was working with Britney when she had the emotional breakdown that led to her conservatorship in the first place, shared the messages, which he dates to 2009, on Instagram earlier this week.
In one message, Britney is heard saying “I’ve been blackmailed by visitation with my babies by the conservatorship. I’m confined, restrained and stripped of my civil rights. And I demand the state of California to review this case because I feel it’s illegal. Bye.” In another, she says “I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship that my father has threatened me several times, that you know, he’ll take my children away.”
Britney had two separate restraining orders taken out against Lutfi around the time he says the calls were recorded. One of those was renewed in 2019, so he’s still prohibited from seeing her. (New York Post)
Rick Astley is never gonna give up being happy about the success of his video for “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
As previously reported, the video for the 1987 number-one hit has just hit one billion views on YouTube, making it only the fourth clip from the ’80s to reach that milestone.  In a video reacting to the news, Astley says, “I’ve just been told that ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ has been streamed a billion times on YouTube. That is mind-blowing. The world is a wonderful and beautiful place and I am very lucky.”
Then, in another post, the British singer announced, “To celebrate 1 Billion views for Never Gonna Give You Up I’m releasing a limited & numbered 7” blue vinyl of the song, 2500 of them and I’ll be signing them all!”

Eight-year-old Jesse Starr and seven-year-old Claire Calvin of Franklin County, Missouri, are best friends. But, things got bumpy last year when Claire was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Jesse, who raises hogs as a hobby and sells them at county fair auctions, wanted to help. So, he announced that he would donate all proceeds from this year’s auction to Claire and her family.
Upon hearing this news, the community responded in a big way. At the auction, people in the stands bid higher and higher, with a woman named Kathy Ruwwe finishing with the ridiculous bid of $16,000.
Kathy knew the money was going to a good cause — and really didn’t care if she actually got the pig or not — so, she asked the auctioneer to “sell it again.”
Another round of bids brought in another $3,000 — bringing the total to $19,000, a lot more than the $1,600 that was expected.
Thanks to a clinical trial, Claire is beating the odds and it looks like her tumor is shrinking.
And, alongside Claire is Jesse, whose appreciation for his friend inspired extreme generosity that will not be forgotten anytime soon by their community. (WISH-TV)

Bob Odenkirk is in stable condition, according to his reps.
The Better Call Saul was hospitalized on Tuesday after collapsing on the New Mexico set. On Wednesday, his team issued a statement, reading, “We can confirm Bob is in stable condition after experiencing a heart-related incident.”
According to TMZ, it was “touch-and-go for the last day but it looks like he’s now out of the woods.” Sources say Odenkirk was unconscious “during the early hours in the hospital, although he’s now lucid.”
Odenkirk, 58, had been shooting the sixth and final season of the Breaking Bad spin-off. The 13-episode season is expected to debut next year on AMC. (Variety)
Infomercial king Ron Popeil has died. The inventor of the Showtime Rotisserie and Pocket Fisherman was 86.
His family tells TMZ that Popeil died Wednesday morning at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering a medical emergency.
Ron was just as well known for his catchphrases “Set it and forget it” and the iconic “But wait, there’s more!”
Ron created the concept of the infomercial. In the early 1950s, he and a partner produced a minute-long, black-and-white commercial for $500, according to his official site.
Among Ron’s inventions, some of which can be seen in the Smithsonian Museum, are Mr. Microphone (the first Karaoke machine), the Popeil Pocket Fisherman, the Smokeless Ashtray and GLH-9 (Great Looking Hair Formula #9) Hair in a Can Spray.
His father, Samuel “S.J.” Popeil, invented the Chop-o-Matic and the Veg-o-Matic, which were sold through his son’s Ronco company.
TBS is making a variety show inspired by the “Stupid Pet Tricks” segment from DAVID LETTERMAN’s “Late Show”.  It’ll be a half-hour, ten-episode series hosted by SARAH SILVERMAN.
Each episode will have pets performing impressive tricks in front of a live audience.  There will also be surprise celebrity guests, comedy bits, and games.
Sarah said, quote, “The rule in show business is, ‘never work with animals or children’ but I choose to work with David Letterman anyway.”
Production will start later this year.

Workplaces are starting to reopen, but lots of workers don’t want to return. Weddings are back, and money is tight for a lot of people.  So is this something ALL brides should do? A 29-year-old woman named Talia Morales got engaged last month.  And she’s getting a ton of love on TikTok after she polled her bridesmaids and asked how much THEY were willing to spend on her wedding. She did it through an online poll, so no one else would see their answers.  And she asked things like how much they could spend on their dresses . . . where they want to stay . . . and if they want their hair and make-up done by a professional. She even asked what style of bridesmaid dress they like best, and included photos.  So maybe they won’t end up with a dress they’ll never wear again. She says a lot of brides get so caught up in planning, they don’t think about how much everyone else has to shell out.  So she’s trying to be as considerate as possible when it comes to money.

The newest casino on the Las Vegas strip may play host to a residency for the one and only Adele.
Insiders say she’s about to earn $140,000 per night starting in January. Resorts World already secured big name residencies from Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion and Katy Perry. This November, Celine opens The Theatre at Resorts World, which has a capacity of 5000. Katy Perry performs there on New Year’s Eve.
Believe it or not, the most recent Adele concert happened in the summer of 2017 — more than 1500 days ago. (The Sun, UK)
Sure, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is nice, but now New Jersey’s own Jon Bon Jovi and Whitney Houston are getting a real honor: rest stops named after them on the Garden State Parkway.
The neighboring New Jersey Turnpike has rest stops named after historical New Jerseyites, like Thomas Edison, but the Parkway is going for star power, reports NorthJersey.com.  The rest stop formerly known as — no joke — Cheesequake will now be known as the Jon Bon Jovi Service Area.  The one formerly known as Vauxhall will be renamed the Whitney Houston Service Area.
Other famed New Jerseyites who are getting the rest stop treatment include Frank Sinatra, Toni Morrison, James Gandolfini, salsa legend Celia Cruz and author Judy Blume.  It’s all part of a campaign by the New Jersey Hall of Fame, which is installing displays about each rest stop’s famous namesake.
But wait, you ask — where’s the Bruce Springsteen Service Area?
“Bruce Springsteen respectfully declined to have a service area named after him,” a New Jersey Hall of Fame spokeswoman told NorthJersey.com. “It should be noted, though, that Bruce has been very supportive of the New Jersey Hall of Fame over the years, and is very much a part of the fabric of the Hall.”

90-year-old Dean Troutman of Illinois is passionate about helping children, as he continues to take big actions to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Back in 2015, he walked over 500 miles for St. Jude, raising $10,000 along the way.
Now, he’s back on the road, walking a staggering 3,600 miles from Illinois through 15 states and back to Illinois — and his wish is that people who hear his story are inspired to donate $36, one penny for every mile he walks.
While on this mission, Dean is pushing a converted pet carrier, which he calls his “buggy.” It carries everything he needs for the journey — food, clothing, maps, as well as a photo of his late wife, Peggy, looking back at him.
He’s using a Facebook page to allow people to keep up with where he’s at and what he’s up to.

The star of Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk, was rushed to a New Mexico hospital after collapsing on set. The cause was not disclosed.
A source told TMZ that crew members immediately surrounded Odenkirk when he went down and dialed 911. The 58-year-old actor received medical treatment overnight.
Bob Odenkirk had been shooting the sixth and final season of the Breaking Bad spin-off. The 13-episode season is expected to debut next year on AMC. (Variety)

Has your circle of friends gotten smaller? A study published by the Survey Center on American Life found that Americans have fewer friends than they used to. The study revealed that 49% of Americans over the age of 18 said they had fewer than three close friends. In 1990, just 27% of Americans said they had fewer than three close friends. In 1990, 33% reported having 10 or more close friends, while today, only 13% said they had 10 or more good friends.
The pandemic definitely had an effect on friendships. The study found that 47% of Americans said they’d lost touch with at least a few friends over the last year. Women, in particular, said they’d lost touch with friends during the pandemic, with 59% saying they had lost contact with friends in the last year.
But it’s not just the pandemic that has led to fewer close friendships. Things like marrying later, spending more time with their kids than past generations, and working longer hours has also affected friendships. (NY Post)

A legislator who introduced a “Free Britney” bill in Congress this month pulled out a big weapon to support Britney Spears — comparing her dad’s oversight to “Communist China.”
South Carolina representative Nancy Mace told Fox News “As a mom, one of the things I was really disturbed by is they’re forcing her on birth control, an IUD, to not allow her to have kids. It’s just really crazy what’s going on. These are things that happen in Communist China, not the United States of America.”
Mace says that that if her bill passes, it would allow someone who is under a conservatorship to petition a judge or court, for an independent or public guardian to make sure the conservator doesn’t have a conflict of interest.
There are about 1.3 million people in the country who are under a conservatorship right now.

Carlos Santana, Rob Thomas, The Killers, Elvis Costello, Earth, Wind and Fire, LL Cool J, Jon Batiste, and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, among others, have joined the lineup for New York City’s Homecoming Concert, set for August 21st at Central Park.
They join the previously announced Paul Simon, Jennifer Hudson, Journey and Patti Smith with special guest Bruce Springsteen at the show. Organizers say that 80-percent of the tickets will be free and distributed starting August 2nd through Homecoming2021.com. VIP tickets will go on sale for Citi cardholders on August 1st.
All attendees are required to be vaccinated. Close to 60,000 people are expected at the show. It will also be shown on CNN at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 21.
