Do you have a secret you keep from everyone? More than one? According to a new survey, the average adult keeps two secrets from those closest to them.
Here are the Top 10 Secrets People Keep From Family and Friends:

People in Miami are still dealing with the condo that collapsed last month. And while it was a tragedy, a small miracle emerged over the past few days as a cat named Binx was finally reunited with his family.
Binx was on the ninth floor of the building and — somehow, some way — survived when the condo collapsed.
The black cat was found by a volunteer who had been feeding cats near the site last Thursday. Binx was wandering around — and was eventually brought to the Kitty Campus rescue center.
Thanks to a pet hotline and a Facebook page, the owners of Binx — the Gonzalez family — learned that he was safe and were able to get together with him again.
A friend of the family described the reunion as “a miracle” because “pets are family.” (Miami Herald)

Bill Cosby plans to go on tour following his release from prison, but there’s one club where he’s not welcome.
The owner of New York City’s Comedy Cellar tells The New York Post that he won’t allow the comedian to perform on his stage.
While Aziz Ansari and Louis C.K. played the club after their sex scandals, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman says that “comparing Bill Cosby to these other guys is absurd.” Dworman points out that the other two comedians were not charged with a crime.
Cosby’s rep, Andrew Wyatt, tells TMZ he’s not worried. “That’s one club owner, and in the words of the King of R&B Bobby Brown, ‘It’s his prerogative to do what he wants to do.’ ”

Hilaria Baldwin has more to say about cultural identity.
Alec Baldwin‘s wife shared a long message to Instagram about how the couple explained to their six kids that people can feel like they’re part of more than one culture.
Hilaria didn’t mention her recent scandal where she was accused of faking a Spanish accent and misleading people about her heritage.
In the post, she writes, “When you are multi, it can feel hard to belong. You are constantly going back and forth, trying to be more this or more that. You feel you have to explain why you are the way you are, trying to fit into a world of labels when there might not be one that perfectly defines you. You will never quite fit in because the other parts of you shape and influence all your parts.”
She added that she wants “to normalize the fact that we are all unique—our culture, languages, sexual orientations, religions, political beliefs are ALLOWED TO BE FLUID. What I had to learn through a very painful experience is that many people relate…so, if you are suffering, please know that a loving group see your validity and belonging. We love & accept you, just as you are.”

RICHARD BRANSON made his space flight yesterday . . . basically becoming the first guy to build his own rocket and blast himself into orbit.
At 71, he’s also the second-oldest guy in space.  JOHN GLENN was 77 when he went up on the shuttle in 1998.
Branson’s Virgin Galactic flight went 53 miles above the New Mexico desert, achieving weightlessness for three to four minutes.  The ship had five other crew members.
Branson was originally supposed to go up later this summer, but he moved his flight up after JEFF BEZOS announced HE was going up there on July 20th.  Branson claims he was NOT trying to outdo Bezos, but . . . yeah.

TODAY IS:
  • National Simplicity Day: The day is in honor of the birthday of author/philosopher/naturalist Henry David Thoreau (July 12th, 1817), who was an advocate for living a life of simplicity.
  • National Pecan Pie Day: Whether you say pee-can or pa-con … Have a slice!

In keeping with the simplicity theme … What’s a great simple pleasure? According to a new survey, getting into a bed with freshly-cleaned sheets, getting a great parking spot, when your favorite song comes on the radio, and a good hair day are just some of the simple things that bring us joy.

If you want to stay motivated and on track with your workout goals, find a workout buddy. According to a Harvard researcher, having someone to work out with makes you accountable and provides the social bonding that will keep you motivated. “Nothing works as effectively as exercising with friends,” said Daniel Lieberman, a Harvard paleoanthropologist.(Insider)

Is online life more important than real life? Seems to be for a lot of people – especially if you’re young. A new study by Squarespace found that 60% of adults under the age of 40 “believe how you present yourself online is more important than how you present yourself in person.” (Best Life)

This gives “flushing money down the toilet” a new meaning:  A university in South Korea is testing a new type of commode that turns your waste into DIGITAL CURRENCY.  Or more simply . . . it pays you for your POOP.
It’s called the BeeVi toilet, and an engineering professor came up with it.  It basically collects everyone’s waste and turns it into methane and manure.  Then the methane powers things in the building, and the manure is used in a nearby garden.
Each time a student uses the toilet, they get paid in a digital currency the professor created called “Ggool,” which means “Honey” in Korean.  Then they can use that Honey to buy stuff on campus, like coffee and snacks.  He says the point is to show how valuable our waste can be if we just think outside the box.

The book was initially to be titled Southern Roots, but the publisher re-named it in the wake of the new wave of controversy surrounding Brit’s life.

About a month ago, the Supreme Court ruled that nobody could stop college athletes from earning money with their names, images and likenesses.
Well, the quarterback of the University of Texas Longhorns football team — Casey Thompson — is putting these new rules to good use … by raising money to combat childhood hunger.
Casey joined an Internet video service called Cameo that allows celebrities to charge fans money for personalized video messages. Casey ended up charging fans $50 for each message — and then donated all the money he raised to the No Kid Hungry campaign.
Casey is one of the first college athletes to use his fame to help those in need. But, he’s hoping that others follow in his footsteps and find ways to inspire fans to help others as well. (Sports Illustrated)

He’s swimming with sharks during this year’s ‘Shark Week.’ He says he’s proud to carry on his dad’s legacy. Irwin was just two years old when his father died in a stingray attack while filming at the Great Barrier Reef. Mariah Carey‘s older brother just took his defamation suit against the diva up a notch — with new legal papers calling her “vindictive” and implying that she’s a drunk.
In papers filed Tuesday, Morgan Carey blasted Mimi for saying she presented some negative stories about him to “inspire troubled youth.” He says, “It is particularly ironic to hear Mariah assert that her intention was not to defame me. This is coming from someone whose public behavior includes glamorizing her excessive drinking and as well as other behaviors which would be in poor taste to mention here.”
The 61-year-old also notes that Mariah has gone through more than 20 management teams and dozens of feuds as proof of her “vindictive” nature. Morgan is seeking over a million bucks in compensation, because he says The Meaning of Mariah Carey harmed his reputation and caused a potential deal for a film project to fall through.
Morgan isn’t the only Carey angry with Mariah’s book. Their sister Alison filed suit back in February. (New York Post)

National Freezer Pop Day: A good day for an ice pop.

Why do dogs circle before they do their business? There are a number of theories. One is that they are giving a 360-degree look at their surroundings before getting in that vulnerable position. Another is that they are spreading their scent to mark their territory – kind of like with pee marking. Then there’s the theory that they are making themselves a nice, clean place to go to the bathroom. And then there’s the magnetic field theory. This one claims that dogs use the force of the Earth’s magnetic fields to choose their pooping place, preferring the north-south axis of the Earth. According to researchers at a university in Prague, dogs prefer to “excrete with the body being aligned along the north-south axis.” Well, there you have it … sort of.

When did you get serious about your finances? A new study has found that, on average, we hit our peak financial recklessness at the age of . . . 22. While they zeroed in on that age, most people said they didn’t think about their finances or budgeting enough when they were younger . . . and that they were 25 before they started “growing up” in terms of handling their money. But by that point, some people suffer dings to their credit score.  The average respondent hit their credit score low point when they were 27. 58% said they don’t think they would’ve EVER gotten their money in order if it weren’t for having a “rude awakening” . . . things like having a child, being cut off from their parents, or applying for a home loan. Or, you know, the pandemic.  45% of people said last year was a financial rude awakening for them.

Speaking of finances, you may be waiting a while for your tax return. There’s word the IRS is a mess! A congressional report says nearly 35 million tax returns still haven’t been processed and only 3 percent of phone calls to the IRS are being answered (sounds like an airline). Millions of Americans are waiting for an average return of about 28-hundred bucks.

Two weeks ago in court, Britney Spears made 10 demands including her freedom and jailing her corrupt family. But first, she needs a lawyer who will fight –- unlike the court-appointed attorney — for her emancipation.
Her mother, Lynne Spears, supports Britney – up to a point. She asked the court to allow Britney to hire a new lawyer of her choosing. Previously, the judge never allowed her to make those decisions because Jamie Spears convinced the court that Britney has dementia.
Lynne Spears submitted paperwork declaring that Britney has recovered from a meltdown 13 years ago. (quote) “She is able to care for herself and has done so for the past many years.” (TMZ)
Meanwhile, Britney drew a line in the sand. She’s endured her final mental evaluation. She refused to undergo testing by shrinks to gain her freedom. An insider told People magazine that Britney “does not trust the doctors assigned by the conservatorship.”
Typically, a doctor must confirm that a person is mentally capable of providing for themselves without a conservatorship. Britney asked the judge to skip that step. She may learn if the judge agrees at the court hearing on July 14th.

While scuba diving in the Cheboygan River in Michigan last month, Jennifer Dowker found a treasure. A small, green glass bottle with a piece of paper rolled up inside was sitting at the bottom of the river, just underneath Jennifer’s glass-bottom boat.
Sure enough. It was a message in a bottle.
She worked together with her employee, Rob Hemmer, to open the bottle. While the paper inside was wet, it was still readable. The message requested that the bottle be returned to a man named George Morrow.
Using social media, Jennifer was able to track down George’s daughter, Michele Primeau.
Michele was excited to see the bottle and the note — and explained to Jennifer that her dad, George — a World War II veteran who passed away in 1995 — probably dropped the bottle into the river right around his 18th birthday.
Although Jennifer wanted to return the note to George’s family, Michele decided that the note should stay with the person who discovered it.
So, Jennifer will keep the note and share it with others who go on scuba tours with her, which makes Michele feel good because it’s a way for her dad to live on and touch the lives of others seeking adventure. (Washington Post)

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are expecting their first child together.
One source tells Page Six, “Scarlett is actually due soon, I know she and Colin are thrilled.”
Another insider added, “Scarlett is pregnant but has been keeping it very quiet. She has been keeping a very low profile.”
The Black Widow star, who wed the Saturday Night Live star in October, sparked pregnancy rumors in June after missing several promotional events for the Marvel movie. Instead, she’s been appearing via Zoom, so she can hide her baby bump.
This will be ScarJo’s second child. She has a 6-year-old daughter with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

A man who believes Sofia Vergara is his mother vandalized the star’s  L.A.-area property.
According to TMZ, the man “used orange paint to write AND etch his social media handles all over and into the walls of the place, which has been undergoing major renovations, including a new paint job that had just been completed.”
The police were called early Monday morning to the site, which is owned by Sofia and husband Joe Manganiello, and the culprit was still there.
The suspect confessed to the vandalism, which included messages for Sofia, who the man believes is his mom.
The damages are estimated to be worth more than $100,000. The couple was not home at the time.

Pete Davidson will be tattoo free by the time he’s 30.

The comedian, who co-stars in The Suicide Squad, decided to remove his tats because of all the trouble of covering it up when he makes movies.
Pete, who reportedly has more than 100 tattoos, once told Seth Meyers that the removal process is brutal. “Burning them off is worse than getting them, because not only are they burning off your skin, but you’re wearing these big goggles, right? So you can’t see anything, and the doctor’s in there with you.”

One mom, Lauren Johnson, even started an awareness campaign called “Alexa is a human.” Amazon issued a statement saying, “We’re saddened by the experiences you’ve shared, and want to be very clear: bullying of any kind is unacceptable, and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms.” But the company said they won’t be changing Alexa’s name — noting that any user can make their device answer to another name if they wish. More proof that it’s better to give than to receive … A new study found that a really easy way to make yourself happier is to buy a toy for your pet. Researchers from Elmhurst University in Illinois found that buying your pet a gift triggers greater feelings of happiness than buying something for yourself. (Mental Floss)

Finally! It’s an age-old BBQ dilemma … hot dogs typically come in a pack of 10 – but hot dog buns come in a pack of 8, often causing an over-buying of buns. Well, Heinz has had enough. The condiment company has introduced their Heinz Hot Dog Pact – which is  a petition “calling on big bun and big wiener companies to finally sell buns and wieners in even packs.” “We’ve seen our fans through social media express their outrage about the bun-to-hot-dog ratio issue for years, and we know there must be a better way. We believe that the time for change is now and we are hopeful,” said Daniel Gotlib, associate director of brand building and innovation for the Kraft Heinz Company. Now the question becomes — Do hot dog makers drop their package to eight – or do bun makers increase their packages to 10? Time will tell. (Food & Wine)

Britney Spears must have mixed reactions to her court-appointed attorney stepping down. Samuel D. Ingham III filed paperwork on Tuesday to resign after 13-years with the conservatorship.
Two weeks ago, Britney told Judge Brenda Penny that she wanted a new lawyer. She complained that Ingham had not served her well. Britney claimed that she never knew she had the ability to petition an end to the conservatorship.
Ingham’s departure is not entirely welcomed. He left before filing termination paperwork. Britney begged for her freedom and Ingham dragged his feet. Now, she must wait for a new lawyer to join the case. Her freedom is further delayed.
There are suspicions that Samuel D. Ingham ensured that Jamie Spears got his way in court rather than independently represent Britney. She declared in court two weeks ago, (quote) “My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship and my management, who played a huge role in punishing me, should be in jail.” (Variety)

Larry Rudolph, who’d served as Britney Spears‘s manager since she was a total unknown, has reportedly quit — because he thinks she’s set to retire permanently.
According to the BBC, Rudolph sent a letter to Britney’s conservators, saying, “It has been over two-and-a-half years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus. Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.”
Britney briefly left Rudolph’s Reign Deer Entertainment in 2004 but returned a short time later after pressure from her dad, Jamie.

98 Degrees hope to make this a hot guy summer — by releasing their first new original music since 2013.
The guys teased the release of “Where Do You Wanna Go” on their official Instagram account on Monday and revealed it will drop this Friday.
Their last studio album was the holiday collection Let It Snow, which hit in 2017.

Kelly Clarkson really wants to be a single lady again — and she’s asked a judge to declare that she is one.
Kel filed papers on Friday asking a California court to declare her “legally single” before all the details of her divorce from Brandon Blackstock are hammered out by lawyers. She filed for divorce in June 2020.
Though the request is unusual, it’s not unprecedented — both Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt did the same during the dissolution of their marriage. (Entertainment Tonight)
