Warner Brothers gift this Christmas to moviegoers is a blockbuster release into theaters and HBO Max.
Wonder Woman 1984 starring Gal Gadot will play at megaplexes starting December 25th, in states where theaters are actually open. At the same time, the movie will stream at HBO Max. Gadot urged Twitter followers to support the $200 million blockbuster at theaters, but where it is not safe or available, to choose HBO Max.
AMC Theaters made a deal with Warner Bros to allow both options for 30 days. Then, for the next months, Wonder Woman 1984 will be available only at megaplexes before returning to on-demand HBO Max. (Deadline)
In touch Weekly Magazine says Naya Rivera’s four-year-old son, Josie, is suing Ventura County, California for wrongful death. The child’s father, Ryan, and Naya’s estate say the pontoon boat she was on before she drowned was grossly under equipped and lacked a safety ladder, adequate rope, an anchor and a radio
Michael J.Fox tells the Los Angeles Times that he is retiring from acting again due to his declining health. “There is a time for everything, and my time of putting in a twelve-hour workday, and memorizing seven pages of dialogue, is best behind me…At least for now … I enter a second retirement. That could change, because everything changes. But if this is the end of my acting career, so be it.”
In case you’ve been looking for the Peanuts holiday specials on TV,  Apple TV+ has reached an agreement to show ”A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (November 22nd)  and ”A Charlie Brown Christmas” (December 13th) on PBS. Apple now owns the rights to the Charlie Brown specials and only streamed “The Great Pumpkin” on their service. This angered people, who had become accustomed to watching the specials on free TV.

Lewis Capaldi got plenty of people hooked on his music, and now he’s hoping to get fans hooked on the seafood from his father’s fish store.
The Scottish star, who’s always willing to go the extra mile for a laugh, put on his salesman’s hat for a pitch on his Instagram Stories. Lewis put up a campy video saying, “If people my age are thinking I don’t know what to get my grandmother for Christmas, get them a big [bleepin’] sea bass. Get her a sea bass from my dad’s shop and say, ‘There you go Gran, stick this sea bass right in your neck.'”
He went on to admit that he was openly shilling for the shop. “I know what you’re thinking. Is Lewis’s father using his son to further his own business? The answer is yes, and if you’re thinking that’s disgusting, I agree. But the fish is delicious. It’s delicious fish!” (Daily Record)
All Mariah Carey wanted for Christmas was a TV special of her own — and the folks at Apple TV just gave it to her.
Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, which premieres on December 4th, will mix musical performances with a cute storyline that sees Mimi coming to the aid of Santa, who’s gotten himself into trouble up at the North Pole. Guests on the special include Tiffany Haddish, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, and Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
Mimi has set a December 11th release date for a soundtrack album that will feature a revamped version of “Sleigh Ride” and the new single “Oh Santa.” She’s also teasing a video for the second tune, which will also drop in early December. (Variety)

Rebecca Fralick of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, has built a catering company into a thriving business — and wanted to use that business to give a boost to local medical workers.
So, she created over 400 meals and delivered them to a hospital in the community. The workers enjoyed wraps, salads and soups — along with special cupcakes.
Rebecca said she noticed that over the past couple months support for the healthcare workers has faded. She heard stories of workers feeling discouraged and worn out — and wanted to do something to encourage them.
Now that this mission is completed, Rebecca has her sights set on the future. She’s making plans to provide Thanksgiving meals for healthcare workers as well. (Seehafter News)

He casually accepted the annual honor, saying, (quote) “It’s a cool feeling. It’s a good club to be a part of.”
Jordan flexed in the boxing franchise, Creed. He also starred opposite Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther.
Seven years ago, People magazine tapped Michael B Jordan as “One to Watch” in that year’s Sexiest Man Alive issue. Jordan replaced John Legend, who followed Idris Elba. Before them came Blake Shelton and Dwayne Johnson. (People)
George Clooney confirmed that he once gave $1 million to 14 friends.
He arranged delivery of “giant pallets of cash” to his closest buddies. Clooney told GQ magazine why he was so generous, (quote) “If I get hit by a bus, they’re all in the will. So why am I waiting to get hit by a bus?”
This happened seven years ago, before Clooney married Amal Alamuddin and had twins. He’d just made bank from the movie Gravity. Rather than take a big salary, he and Sandra Bullock negotiated a sweetheart deal to earn a fraction of the profits. The movie made more than $1 billion.
He chose 14 of his closest buddies. Clooney said, (quote) “They helped me over a period of 35 years. I’ve slept on their couches when I was broke and they loaned me money, too. Without them I don’t have any of this.” (GQ)
Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee will helm a movie musical about the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. The little blue pill has become a $3 billion industry.
The song and dance film is based on a magazine article titled, All Rise: The Untold Story of the Guys Who Launched Viagra. The history behind the popular drug among over-the-hill men is a fascinating accident.
Pfizer went into Viagra test trials hoping it would resolve chest pains. It did not. But the male volunteer test subjects refused to return their unused supply of Viagra because of its side effect below the belt.
Marketing geniuses latched onto that positive element for impotent men. The movie musical will tell that story, as well as the challenges Pfizer faced in the ’90s to convince lawmakers, Wall Street, and the Catholic Church that Viagra was not immoral. (Deadline)

A new survey has revealed that 51% of respondents said this year has been their worst year ever for sleep. 42% said they can’t remember the last time they got a good night’s sleep. 60% said they planned to make sleep a top priority in 2021. What’s better than apple pie for the holidays? Apple pie-flavored Pepsi? No joke. Pepsi just launched Pepsi Apple Pie, a new apple pie-flavored cola that, according to the company website, is “designed to taste and smell like a sweet and comforting apple pie, complete with warm notes of cinnamon, crisp apples, and buttery pastry crust.” Sadly, Pepsi Apple Pie won’t be available to buy in stores. As part of a holiday marketing campaign, Pepsi is asking anyone interested in winning a 2-liter bottle of the limited-edition flavor to post a photo or video of their best baking fail on Twitter or TikTok, and use the hashtag #PepsiApplePieChallenge. A new study by the University of Granada reveals that dog owners may face a 78% higher risk of catching the coronavirus. Researchers found that owning a dog is as risky as returning to the workplace because dogs touch so many contaminated surfaces. Experts say dogs should be included in their owners’ social distancing plans. Now, thankfully, most animals do not get seriously sick from the coronavirus, but that also means you’ll never know if they’re carrying any germs with the virus.
Yahoo Sports says the cheapest ticket to this year’s Super Bowl in Tampa could cost $10,102 because of reduced capacity. The NFL is only planning to allow between 10,000 and 20,000 fans into Raymond James Stadium for the game. The average ticket price could jump to $12,858 with limited capacity. The aforementioned prices may include a coronavirus test. The league is considering requiring a negative test to get into the game

Sam Smith is sending flowers to millions of followers — through a new filter set up on their Instagram page.
Sam offered the virtual bouquet in a post from early Tuesday morning. In it, they cue up the new single “Kids Again” and lip-sync along, showering the screen with petals with the wave of a hand. The singer has asked fans to follow suit and post your own flower-enhanced clips featuring songs from the new Love Goes album.
Katy Perry knows we can’t all get together right now in person, but she’s using her new single to push the idea that we can do that in spirit.
The star has partnered with Coca-Cola for a campaign called #OpenToBetter, and she’s created a short film for “Resilient” to remind fans that we really can bounce back from anything — if we lean on each other.
Katy explains the message of the song and video by saying, “To me, this campaign is about growing through challenges. I think the song ‘Resilient’ ties so well into that because being resilient is getting back up after you fall, growing from failure, and getting through that challenge. [It’s about] being resilient as a group. It’s not always just about personal growth, we need to grow together too!”
That “impossibly rare” album Ed Sheeran recorded in his early teens is hitting the auction block yet again — and this time it has company, in the form of a second CD he made around the same time.
Ed said he kept 19 of the 20 copies of Spinning Man, written and recorded when he was a kid. The one stray copy fetched $65,000 at auction back in September, but now a second copy is up for grabs, and the seller is also peddling a copy of a second album from the same era. This one’s called The Orange Room, and it got slightly wider distribution back in 2005. The current owner, who lives in the town where Ed grew up, says she bought the discs from the star’s mom when he pressed it up and completely forgot about it.
Auctioneer Paul Fairweather, who’s hoping to get $35,000 for the pair, said: “Ed’s parents played a large part in his career and it’s fascinating to see that that dedication extended to selling individual copies of their teenage son’s CD.”

Six years ago, Victoria Kuzlik and her dad were cleaning out their house and found some old ski equipment. Victoria asked her dad what do to with the old coats and her dad told her that they’d “find someone who needs them.”
That memory stuck with Victoria — and she took action.
She’s now 16 years old and spends time each year collecting donations and delivering coats and clothes to domestic violence shelters in her community.
Her charity organization — Coats for Hope — now operates nearly two dozen donation boxes in Illinois and Wisconsin. And over the last six years, the group has delivered over 35,000 coats and $25,000 to five domestic violence shelters.
Victoria admits that being able to help so many people is “just mind blowing.” But, she continues to work and appreciates the bonds she is building with those who are turning their lives around. (WREX-TV)

Benton Harbor native and comedian Sinbad is recovering from a stroke.
His family released a statement Monday reading, “While he is beginning his road to recovery, we are faithful and optimistic that he will bring laughter into our hearts soon. Our family thanks you in advance for your love and support and ask for continued prayers for his healing. We also ask that you please respect our privacy during this time.”
The Rock and the producers of his new Netflix movie ”Red Notice” recently had to change a scene because he was too big for a white Porsche he was supposed to drive. The cast and crew laughed as he struggled to get inside the small sports car. The Rock described the uncomfortable scene as “like a big brown marshmallow getting shoved into a coin slot.”
We Got This Covered says James Cameron may make a new Terminator movie that is set in the future. A source tells the website, “Despite the last one bombing, James Cameron still wants a new Terminator film and this one to be set during the war in the future like #4.”
Life & Style Weekly Magazine says Meghan Markle aspires to be more famous than Kim Kardashian. A source tells the magazine,  “While Meghan was expected to do everything in the name of the monarchy after marrying Harry in 2018, she’s made big plans for herself. Rumors have been swirling for months that she and Harry are doing a reality show. Markle is also reportedly considering Botox and fillers to even look like a Kardashian.

Fans who were angry about Scooter Braun buying Taylor Swift‘s song catalog last year are going to be even angrier now that he’s flipped the rights for an even bigger payday.
Variety reports that Scooter, who paid $300 million for the master tapes of Tay’s work, just sold his stake to an unnamed investment fund for what’s described as “a sizeable profit.” It’s unclear just how much the new owner can earn from Taylor’s old recordings, since she’s declared her intent to re-record most of the albums — making sure that her new versions, and not the ones previously owned by her former label, are the ones used in advertisements, TV shows, movies, games and other uses.
At the time of the original sale, Swift called Braun a “bully” and said he was “the definition of toxic male privilege in our industry.” Braun is famous for managing Justin Bieber since his beginning as a teenage heartthrob.
Kelly Clarkson had to put the brakes on her  talk show last week after her staff was hit by “a number” of positive COVID-19 tests.
Deadline reports that the star’s production company had been doing regular tests as required by the state of California, and turned up several positives — although Kelly herself tested negative. Taping was tentatively set to start up again this week, but as of Sunday, no official decision had been made.
Kel’s not the only one facing the pandemic dilemma. Several shows —  including Real Housewives of Atlanta and Chicago Fire — have had to shut down production due to staffers falling ill.
Ed Sheeran seems to have found a way to turn a positive into a negative — by making his country estate less valuable with some of those expensive additions.
According to Britain’s Sun, local real estate experts say that Ed might have cut the value of his rural property by nearly $1.5 million by tacking on a slew of fancy extras that nobody else would want. Agent Paul Gibbens of Housebuyers4u says, “As the estate is so unique to Ed’s taste, it could actually have a negative impact on the sale price and the cost of reverting the features could be hefty.”
Ed’s add-ons, some of which angered his neighbors, include a pub, a giant tree house, a prayer room, an underground music room, a wildlife pond and tunnels connecting everything.

TV and Reality Star Donnie Wahlberg has been making a huge impact this year by leaving big tips for restaurant servers.
He recently left another big tip — $2,020 on a $35 food bill — to his server, Denise Andrews.
But instead of just accepting the tip for herself, Denise did something special with it.
First, she tipped out her fellow waitstaff and the workers in the kitchen, making sure that the entire staff was covered. Then, she donated two full turkey meals to other families in need to make sure that they were covered during the holidays.
So while Donnie left a big tip for a single waitress, Denise made sure that his generosity impacted many others — both at the restaurant and in the community. (Page Six)

Despite a scandalous year in the tabloids, Ellen DeGeneres won the trophy for best daytime talk show of 2020 at the E! People’s Choice Awards on Sunday. In her acceptance speech, she thanked her “amazing” staff. The honor comes after the comedian was accused of creating a toxic work environment at her show.
She added, “Thank you to all of my fans for supporting me, for sticking by me. I cannot tell you how grateful I am. This means more than I can say.”
The show aired live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and featured a performance from Justin Bieber.
Demi Lovato hosted the awards ceremony, which has fans vote for their favorites in such categories as film, television, music and pop culture.
In a year light on blockbusters and new releases, Bad Boys for Life was named Movie of 2020. Star Will Smith took home Male Movie Star while Tiffany Haddish was named Female Movie Star for Like a Boss.
Other winners included Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda (Drama Movie Star), Extraction star Chris Hemsworth (Action Movie Star) Riverdale star Cole Sprouse (Male TV Star), Grey’s Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo (Female TV Star) and Khloé Kardashian (Reality Star).
Tyler Perry, who received the People’s Champion Award, gave an inspirational speech, telling people to “make sure everybody that you run into meets you at your worth.”
Many fans believe LeVar Burton would make a great replacement for the late Alex Trebek.
A petition was started last week calling for the former Reading Rainbow host and Star Trek actor to take over the game show. As of Sunday night, almost 100,000 people had signed it.
The petition caught the attention of LeVar — who tweeted, “Even if nothing comes from it, I can’t tell how much how I appreciate all y’alls love and support.”
The petition makes its case by arguing that LeVar “has inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds” through his various roles.

The name Karen has become synonymous on the internet and in memes with entitled women wanting to “speak to the manager,” and it seems that this stereotype has affected people named Karen in the dating world. According to the dating app Wingman, users named Karen reported receiving nearly 33% fewer matches this year than last year. (Daily Mail)
Speaking of dating … Have you been hatfished? Hatfishing is when someone wears a hat or otherwise disguises the fact that they have no hair on a dating app profile pic. A new survey revealed that 21% of respondents said they have tried to hide their lack of hair on dating apps or social media. And 16% have used a hat to do so … therefore, the term “hatfisher.” The survey found that 10% of respondents had been “hatfished” and 40% of women said they probably wouldn’t pursue a potential date if they had been hatfished by them.
More than 25% of respondents said when scrolling through dating apps or meeting for a first date, they made a judgment on the person’s hair first. And 56% of women polled said they would prefer to date someone with a full head of hair.
45% of the women surveyed said they would completely lose interest if their date had a comb-over. (SWNS)
Thinking about changing careers? You’re not alone. 42% of respondents to a recent survey said they have had a “career lightbulb moment” during coronavirus. The survey of 18- to 35-year-olds in California, Arizona, Texas, Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey and Pennsylvania found that 54% have strongly considered changing their careers in the past six months. 67% said they are actively pursuing a career that makes them happy. 53% said they are looking for a new job that would allow them to never have to go into an office again. 52% of respondents said they would love to have a job where they could work with their hands. Are Christmas cards making a comeback? Christmas cards – especially personal ones – have fallen out of fashion in recent years. Most people just send out a photo card with a generic greeting to everyone – even their closest friends and family. And most cards get tossed after the holiday season is over — since there is no reason to save a card that has no sentimental value attached to it. But this year might actually be different. According to an op-ed in the New York Times, people are not only taking the time to send meaningful, personalized cards this year, but they are addressing the pandemic as a way to connect and commemorate a year that has been filled with uncertainty. From family photos that include everyone wearing masks, to sentiments of hope, it seems holiday cards will be more meaningful this year — and might provide a real bright spot for everyone missing their loved ones during the holidays.

Just last month, World War II fighter pilot Harry Moyer turned 100 years old. And, he’s still flying.
Amazingly, Harry still flies every week. He might just be the oldest active pilot in the world. His family even sent in a video to Guinness World Records to see if he’s got the record.
But, Harry points out that he doesn’t care about the record.
He started flying in 1942 with the Army Air Corps and served as a combat pilot throughout the war. It’s something he’s good at and loves to do. So as long as he can get up in the air and put his hours in, it’s just a part of his life that brings him great joy and satisfaction. (CBS News)

Grey’s Anatomy fans could not believe who made a surprise return for last night’s season premiere. They were not alone in being shocked.
The show’s director tweeted, (quote) “Most of the actors didn’t know. Some of the writers didn’t know. Most of the good folks at the studio and network didn’t know.”
Spoiler Alert: Patrick Dempsey appeared near the end of the two-hour episode. “McDreamy” came to Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) in a dream sequence on the beach.
This episode focused on the strains that COVID placed on hospitals and the stress for nurses and doctors, who lacked enough personal protection equipment. Near the end, Meredith Grey collapsed in the hospital parking lot from exhaustion. Then her dead lover, Derek Shepherd, returned to her in a dream. (Deadline)
Al Roker promised The Today Show cast and crew that he will “see you all soon.”
He returned home on Thursday from successful prostate cancer surgery. Doctors completely removed the gland. Al Roker tweeted photos of his caregivers: wife Deborah Roberts and son 18-year-old son Nicholas.
The 66-year-old weather announcer expressed gratitude for the expert care he received at Sloan Kettering’s Josie Robertson Surgery Center in New York City. Roker added, (quote) “I appreciate all the thoughts and wishes from our viewers and the wonderful care packages from my co-workers. See you all soon.” (People)
HBO Max scheduled the Friends reunion special for March of next year.
Matthew Perry delivered the update via Twitter. He said, (quote) “Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it.”
Twice before the special was postponed due to COVID concerns. Apparently, the cast and crew have faith that by spring they can safely tape a reunion in front of a studio audience.
Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc all agreed to reunite for an unscripted special. They will tape on the original stage of the ’90s sitcom. (E! News)

Seems young adults are terrified of going bald. According to a new YouGov poll, 59% of 18- to 24-year-old men and 57% of 18- to 24-year-old women agreed with the statement that “going bald terrifies me.” And Millennials are also very concerned about thinning hair. 55% of 25-to 34-year-old women and 50% of 25- to 34-year-old men said a thinning hairline is frightening for them.
As we creep closer to a few Christmas traditions, CBS says the Centers for Disease Control is recommending people socially distance during the holidays and avoid Christmas caroling because of the coronavirus. They say droplets will fly if people sing.
NBC says Walmart’s website temporarily crashed yesterday after the Sony PlayStation 5 was released online for sale. The console quickly sold out. The PlayStation 5 costs $400 and is already being resold online for as much as $800. It is expected to be the holiday season’s highest selling gift idea.
And, speaking of Christmas, Home Depot’s pink Christmas trees have become a hot holiday seller among women. The bubblegum pink trees are seven feet tall and have LED lights. The tree contains 826 branches and a star at the top. It costs $149.

Super Bowl weekend will take on a whole new meaning this year — thanks to R&B and Pop Superstar The Weeknd, who’s just been tabbed to headline the halftime show at Super Bowl 55.
The “Blinding Lights” singer will take the stage of Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium when the big game goes down on February 7th. He says, “We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I’m humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”
This marks the second year of a halftime show partnership between the NFL and Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation. Last year’s teaming of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira generated a lot of positive reviews — and a lot of controversy over the content. (Time)
A previously unreleased Britney Spears track has showed up at stylish clothing store Urban Outfitters.
“Swimming in the Stars” is exclusively available as a 12-inch vinyl single at the retailer as part of Wednesday’s 11/11 Singles Day. The single won’t be released to digital and streaming platforms until November 27th.
Other tracks in the series that are available through Urban Outfitters online and retail outlets include Billie Eilish‘s “Everything I Wanted,” Demi Lovato‘s “I Love Me” and “Still Have Me,” Jonas Brothers‘ “X” and Shawn Mendes‘s new song, “Wonder.”
The single’s release comes a day after Britney’s attorney said in court that she “will not perform again” if her father, Jamie Spears, continues to head the conservatorship put in place in 2008.

Happy Headline from United Federal Credit Union – Thursday, November 12

The Akron Marathon in Akron, Ohio, is an annual race that benefits the Akron Children’s Hospital. Like so many events this year, plans changed and the race became a virtual event — and not many runners signed up.
No runners meant no donations.
Kolt Codner didn’t want this fundraising opportunity to be missed this year — especially since his five-year-old son, Andrew, has been a patient at the hospital, battling leukemia.
So, Kolt made his own race. He ran 26.2 miles, doing laps around the hospital building — with Andrew joining him for some of the running.
Along the way, Kolt raised over $16,000 for the hospital, crushing his goal of $1,000.
So even though the Akron Marathon didn’t go exactly as planned, Kolt was still able to celebrate the hospital and the amazing caregivers who work there. (See more on this story from People)

Denzel Washington is safe this morning. Los Angeles fire crews responded last night to a possible fire at his $35 million home. All the residents escaped safely.
Smoke bellowed from a second floor window of his four-story mansion. Fire inspectors searched inside the walls believing that embers may be smoldering and causing the smoke. LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said, (quote) “The investigation is largely focused on one of several furnaces in the home that may have been recently serviced.”
It’s been “freezing” this week for Los Angeles residents. Temperatures have been stuck in the 60s during the day, but have dropped into the 50s and 40s overnight. That’s bone-chilling for Southern Californians who don’t normally experience temps that low. (Los Angeles Times)
Kate Winslet says she’s “very proud” to beat one of Tom Cruise‘s filming records.
The actress held her breath underwater for seven minutes and 14 seconds while filming Avatar 2. Tom held the previous record. He held his breath for 6 to 6-and-a-half minutes in 2011 while filming Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
Kate tells Entertainment Tonight, “It was brilliant and I was very proud of myself and I’ll probably never be able to do it again. That came at the end of four weeks worth of quite intense training and it was in the dive tank, it was in the training tank. But I loved it.”
Lucasfilm has defended Baby Yoda following a scandal that erupted on the latest season of The Mandalorian.
Spoiler alert: In the latest episode, the character known as The Child, eats the eggs of an alien character as a running gag. But many fans weren’t laughing. One Twitter user said, “For the record, the frog lady was very adamant about the fact that her eggs were important to her, and that it was her last and only chance to have kids, so it’s actually closer to [messing] up someone’s [in vitro fertilization] which would be incredibly upsetting for a wannabe mom. It’s not funny.”
The controversy became such a big deal that Lucasfilm’s creative art manager Phil Szostak responded. He tweeted, “For the record, Chapter 10 of #TheMandalorian makes it clear that the Frog Lady’s eggs are unfertilized, like the chicken eggs many of us enjoy.”
Phil added, “But obviously, chickens aren’t sentient beings and the Child eating the eggs is intentionally disturbing, for comedic effect.”
