A good day you have some pancakes, build something with Legos, and play a Kazoo.

If you could have 2020 erased from your memory, would you do it? How much would you pay to have 2020 completely wiped from your brain? According to a new OnePoll survey, the average American would pay $2,000 to have any memory of last year deleted. (SWNS)

Soldiers, let your hair down … The U.S. Army is approving some new rule changes that will allow female soldiers to let their hair down. Leaders have agreed to loosen hairstyle and grooming restrictions and will allow female soldiers to have ponytails, braids, twists, and other styles. Highlights and dyes will also be allowed, as will earrings and nail polish. The changes, which will go into effect at the end of February, address the complaints of many female soldiers. The Army’s top enlisted leader, Sergeant Major Michael Grinston, says, “This is about an Army standard and how we move forward with the Army, and being a more diverse, inclusive team.” (Fox News)

Do you know what IYKYK means? It’s hard to keep up with the ever-changing texting lingo, but this acronym is a TikTok fav – so much so, that the #iykyk hashtag on TikTok currently has 3.4 billion views. So what does it mean? IYKYK stands for: If you know, you know. It’s used to refer to inside jokes and other inside info that, well, “if you know, you know.” (In the Know)

Music News – Thursday, January 28

Billie Eilish says at times her lifestyle, especially during the pandemic, can get a little divorced from reality.
In the cover story of the March issue of Vanity Fair, she cites the time she recently tried to order a box of Froot Loops online. She says she felt “kind of stupid” because she didn’t know how much Froot Loops are supposed to cost. So she tried to order one box and was like, ‘Oh yeah, sure. It’s $35.’”
She didn’t realize how expensive that would’ve been, or that she was actually ordering 70 mini-Froot Loops boxes, at 50 cents apiece.
She says she “grew up with no money” and so is a little confused as to the proper prices for things.

Ed Sheeran has been brewing his own beer during the pandemic. A source tells the website The Solar dot com, “Ed loves his beer – particularly his actual ales and craft beers. He is had just a few kits delivered and has been having enjoyable making his personal drinks.”

Billy Joel tells Rolling Stone magazine that he frequently writes new music that he won’t record. “I still write music. I just don’t record it, and they’re not in song form. It’s another kind of music altogether. It’s purely for my own edification. I don’t feel compelled to record it. I don’t feel compelled to make myself be relevant. Like I said, I lived the rock and roll life, and I’m not writing that anymore.”

Herbruck’s poultry farm between Grand Rapids and Lansing makes it a point to donate to those in need each year. Normally, company president Greg Herbruck says they’ve been donating about a million eggs each year.
This year was — of course — unusual. Greg could see that food banks and other charity groups were going to need extra help this year, so he did his best to maximize the giving.
It worked.
The final tally is in and the company was able to donate 1.6 million eggs in 2020.
Like everyone, Greg is hopeful that the need for help decreases as all this blows over. But in the meantime, he said the company is committed to supporting local families and neighbors get nutritious food during these challenging times.

On Thursday, BET has a docu-special starring Tyler Perry to dispel the myths around the COVID vaccine.
Tyler Perry created the program called COVID-19 Vaccine and The Black Community to combat skeptics and conspiracies. He recruited Georgia doctors to help explain how the vaccines provide immunity against the coronavirus. On Monday, he got the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine with the cameras rolling.
Tyler Perry admitted that he woke on Tuesday with “some aches and pains” that Advil relieved. He told CBS anchor Gayle King, (quote) “If you look at our history in this country, the Tuskegee experiment, Henrietta Lacks, it raises flags for African American people. So I understand why there’s a healthy skepticism about the vaccine.” (Entertainment Tonight)

Lori Loughlin’s husband will have to stay behind bars for a little while longer.
Mossimo Giannulli‘s request for an early release from federal prison has been denied with the judge saying there was no “extraordinary or compelling reason” to do so.
The fashion guru, who was convicted for his role in the college admissions scandal, argued that he should do the remainder of his five-month sentence at home because all his time in solitary confinement had been punishment enough.
Giannulli has served about two months of his sentence.
His wife did two months before being released in December.

Actor Armie Hammer’s ex is speaking out. The actor is making headlines because in some leaked DMs he says he’s a cannibal. Have you gone meat-free? Did you do it for yourself – or did you do it for someone else? If you cut back on meat because of your partner, you are not alone. A survey found that 57% of respondents who cut back on meat said they did it because their partner wanted them to. And 70% of those confessed they would not have done it if their significant other hadn’t encouraged them to. (SWNS)

Would you name your baby after a character in a horror movie? Apologies to anyone named Chucky, Carrie, or Freddy, but being named after a horror movie character — on purpose, anyway — seems a little creepy, no? Fans of 1,000 Pound Sisters are well aware that Amy Slaton is expecting her first baby, and TLC has confirmed that the reality show star, who publicly shares her weight struggles, is expecting a baby boy. It’s great news for the happy couple, but fans are reeling after Amy discussed their top pick for the baby’s name — Gage. Sounds adorable until you hear why they chose it. It’s the little boy’s name in Pet Sematary, the Stephen King novel and horror movie. Amy explains the choice by saying she and her husband, Michael, “both love horror movies.” (Soap Dirt)

Why are so many people eating oranges in the shower? Ask anyone under 22 and they’ve probably done it. The weird internet craze was born on Reddit – where a lot of dumb things come from – as a ‘feel-good’ way to get your daily serving of fruit. Some people think the hot steam intensifies the smell of the orange, but bottom line: you just don’t get as sticky eating it in the shower.

Music News – Wednesday, January 27

You don’t see much press about Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s two sons — and that’s exactly the way the couple wants it.
Justin sat down for Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast and ended up talking a lot about parenting. He told Shepard, “I try to be conscious of making sure we can live a life where we’re not weirdly private but we’re conscious of making sure they can be kids for as long as possible and not have the weight of somebody else treating them differently because of something that their parents do. The hope is that we just keep instilling in them that we got really fun jobs, but it’s not who we are.”
Timberlake puts his parenting knowledge to work in his latest acting role — playing a foster father figure to a gender-fluid boy in the family drama Palmer.

Shawn Mendes wants fans to get up on their feet — for a long walk along with him.
The Canadian artist serves as host and narrator for one of the first episodes of Time to Walk, a new interactive program attached to the Apple Watch. The service lets users pair their walking routine with a recorded program featuring music as well as personal stories from celebrities. When Hanna and Mark Gleiberman of San Diego, California, realized their city didn’t have a fully inclusive and accessible playground, they wanted to do something about it.
So, they donated $1 million to get one built.
The playground that their donation is making possible offers a bunch of opportunities that support the development of the kids and families who will use it.
Not only will it meet the physical, mental, social and sensory needs of kids — but it will also allow adults with disabilities to play with their kids in a fully accessible way.
Hanna — who is a former teacher — says she and Mark were inspired to make the donation in order to boost the self-esteem and self-image of kids, and enhance friendships between non-disabled and disabled people of all ages.

Demi Lovato has signed on to star in a comedy series called Hungry, which has scored a put pilot order at NBC. Kanye West is back…in L.A., that is.
The rapper and former presidential candidate has finally left his Wyoming ranch and returned home. He was spotted for the first time since news of his impending divorce from Kim Kardashian broke. Photographers snapped pics of him arriving Sunday by private jet at Van Nuys Airport.
A source tells Entertainment Tonight, “Kim and Kanye are still heading for divorce,” despite the fact that they “still communicate regularly.” They’re apparently keeping things civil for their four children. Another insider says, “Kim and Kanye will do what is best for their kids and are on great terms as parents.”

Harry Potter could be coming to TV.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a live-action series is in early development at HBO Max.
Sources says executives at the streamer “have engaged in multiple conversations with potential writers exploring various ideas that would bring the beloved property to television.”
So far, they’ve only discussed “broad ideas” as “part of the early-stage exploratory meetings,” and “no writers or talent are currently attached.”
This comes only months after creator J.K. Rowling caused a firestorm in the trans community over her definition of biological sex.
It’s probably worth noting that the eight Harry Potter movies have grossed more than $7 billion worldwide.

National Spouses Day: A day to show appreciation for your spouse.

Trending on TikTok … People are sharing the foods they prefer to eat at temperatures they’re not typically eaten at. One woman’s video, in particular, showing her cold pizza preference, has people talking. Now, when we say cold, we don’t mean regular out-of-the-fridge cold. This woman eats FROZEN pizza without cooking it. “It’s weird, it’s disgusting […] and I love it,” she said. “Why waste time cooking it? It goes to the same place!” At least she knows it’s a strange habit. “Feel free to roast me in the comments,” she said. “I probably deserve it.”

Putting down the phone … In a recent Instagram post, actress Eva Mendez announced that she was taking a break from social media. Seems she made the decision after her daughter told her she was on her phone too much. Mendez said she wanted to focus on being present for her two daughters, Esmeralda, 6, and Amada, 4. (Best Life)

Sex and the City made the Cosmopolitan martini famous … but according to Sara Jessica Parker, while she was starring as Carrie Bradshaw in the series, she wasn’t a fan of the cocktail … that is, until AFTER the show. She revealed on Grub Street Diary: “To be honest, I really do love a Cosmopolitan. I don’t know how to make them well, but I genuinely love them. Strangely enough, it didn’t happen until long after I stopped shooting the show and the movies,” she said. “I would be served them at restaurants, or people sent them over, and I was always very grateful. But I didn’t really drink the cocktail until after we finished the show. I went to some place and had an exquisite one and then it started.” (Delish)

Music News – Tuesday, January 25

Adele has marked the 10th anniversary of her biggest album, 21.
It was released 10 years ago yesterday in Europe (but didn’t come out here in the U.S. until February 22nd) and Adele wrote in an Instagram post, “Happy 10 years old friend! It’s crazy how little I remember of what it was like and how I felt a decade ago. But Thank You from the bottom of my heart for letting us into your lives and letting me be a soundtrack to some of it.”
21 has been certified 14-times platinum by the RIAA and is the biggest selling album of the 2010’s. It spun off three number-one singles in the U.S. — “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You” and “Set Fire to the Rain.”

Seems there’s now proof that stars go through the same dating struggles as regular people. Sam Smith was looking for love in all the wrong places — so friends decided to help the singer check out Tinder for a match.
A source close to Sam tells Britain’s Sun that the “celebs only” site Raya turned out to be a bust, so they got together to create a profile on Tinder instead. The insider says, “On Tinder, a lot of people haven’t believed it really is Sam because it’s not every day you see a superstar on there. But all of the matches are being vetted by friends, who are sending profiles to Sam in the hope that one of them could be The One. They’re hoping they can find a regular person who isn’t bothered about Sam’s star power or anything like that.”

Justin Bieber took a moment to recognize that he’s grown up since being a bratty, out-of-control teenager.
He tweeted on Saturday, “Seven years ago today, I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god.”
Back in 2014, the Miami Police Department charged Bieber with resisting arrest and driving with an expired license while under the influence. He was caught street racing in a rented yellow Lamborghini. A urine test revealed traces of Xanax and marijuana. Bieber avoided jail in a deal with prosecutors by pleading guilty to a reduced charges of careless driving and resisting an officer without violence.
Justin credited religion with turning around his life. “God has brought me a long way.” Hallelujah. (Billboard)

Robert Peters of Tipton, Indiana, has been delivering pizza for 31 years.
Through rain, wind, and snow, Robert has been making people happy with those deliveries in an old 1993 Oldsmobile … until now.
One of his regular customers — Taylor Langley — realized how hard Robert was working and how good he was at his job, so he started a campaign to help out and get Robert a new car.
The campaign was a huge success.
In just two days, the people of Tipton donated enough for a shiny, red Chevy Malibu, including insurance and gas money — a gift worth $19,000.
Upon receiving the car, Robert said he “couldn’t believe it” and described the feeling as “surreal.”
And, Robert’s work isn’t done. Not even close. He’ll keep rolling and delivering pizzas because his purpose in life is to make people happy, knowing that his face might be the only face they see all day. (CBS News)

On February 6th, Schitt’s Creek co-creator and star Dan Levy hosts with Phoebe Bridgers as the musical guest. And on February 13th Regina King will headline with musical guest Nathaniel Rateliff.

Mariah Carey ramped up her #MC30 anniversary celebration Friday with a bumper crop of remix EPs focusing on her Charmbracelet album.
Mimi rolled out digital collections focused on several tracks from that album, including  “Through the Rain,” “I Only Wanted, “The One,” “Boy (I Need You)” and her cover of Def Leppard‘s “Bringing on the Heartbreak.”
Big Apple rapper Cam’Ron appears on the “Boy (I Need You)” EP, which includes seven different remixes. Mimi gave “Bringing on the Heartbreak” a super-lavish treatment — with more than a dozen takes totaling more than 80 minutes of playing time. There’s even a video tucked into each EP.

It took two whole years, but Adele and former hubby Simon Kornacki have worked out a settlement — and are officially divorced.
The couple, who separated back in April of 2019, presented papers to a Los Angeles court last Friday. Us Weekly reports that neither of them is using a lawyer, and have opted to determine rights to community property and debts through a mediator.
They previously reached an agreement about custody of their eight-year-old son Angelo, but details about that have not been released.

The Daily Mail says Phil Collins is planning to move back into his $40 million Miami Beach mansion. His ex-wife, Orianne Cevey, and her new husband, Thomas, were court ordered to leave the home. Orianne secretly married Thomas while with Collins.

Last year, the staff at Kenneth Carberry Elementary School in Emmett, Idaho, welcomed seven-year-old Pete Goers as a student. But because of a condition he was born with, Pete deals with special challenges each day, including the need for a wheeled walker to get around.
The walker seemed to work fine inside the school and in the classroom, but Pete was having a hard time getting to the playground — even with the help of his twin brother, Dane.
So, the school staff started a fundraising campaign, that led to $32,000 being raised to build a special path — which they call “Pete’s Path” — in the school yard that allows Pete to get to and from the playground each day.
Thanks to the attention and hard work of those who work with Pete each day, he’s now able to enjoy daily routines that put a smile on his face — and allow him to spend time with his classmates, both inside the classroom and out. (KTVB-TV)

Coming February 5th to the FX Network, The New York Times presents Framing Britney Spears.
The documentary examines the dirty details of her conservatorship. The manipulation. The conflicts of interest. Where the money goes and Britney’s court battle to remove her father as conservator.
Framing Britney Spears features interviews of showbiz insiders, attorneys and a #FreeBritney organizer.
FX teased the episode on Thursday with the promo: (quote) “Her rise was a global phenomenon. Her downfall was a cruel national sport. People close to Britney Spears and lawyers tied to her conservatorship now reassess her career as she battles her father in court over who should control her life.” (Billboard)

Dave Chappelle has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing him to cancel his shows this week in Austin, Texas. This comes a few days after the comedian was photographed with Joe Rogan, Elon Musk and Grimes at Stubb’s Ampitheater. None of them wore a mask. (TMZ)

Kim Kardashian knows how to create drama, especially when it comes to her reality show.
According to reports, Kim is keeping quiet about her divorce, so she can use her breakup with Kanye West for Keeping Up With the Kardashians storyline.
BuzzFeed News theorizes that a few weeks back Kim deleted a photo of herself not wearing her wedding ring to keep “quiet” on the divorce rumors “because she was planning to address the subject on the upcoming 20th and final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
As the site puts it, “After all, for 14 years the family have followed the same tradition of stoking media gossip in the run up to each season premiere before leaving the big reveal to the show. And Season 20 will be their last chance to maximize the drama before KUWTK ends.
The theory seems valid as Page Six reports that Kim and Kanye’s marital issues will be a key storyline in the show’s final season. A source said, “The Kardashians intend to go out with a bang.”
Filming on Season 20 ended two weeks ago, so we should find out soon.

Yep, the airline is offering its in-flight wines to consumers, via a wine club. “Each year, a dedicated team of wine experts carefully reviews nearly 2,000 bottles to select those that will join the award-winning American Airlines wine program,” an AA statement says. “For the first time ever, travel and wine enthusiasts can enjoy these premium wines by having them delivered straight to their door with American’s new Flagship Cellars at-home wine experience.” You’ll get three bottles a month – that you can choose or have a sommelier choose for you – for $100. This is a question for all of you working from home. Are you happy being at home – or are you missing the office? According to a new YouGov poll, home is where the heart – and home office – is. A whopping 80% of respondents said they enjoyed working from home, and 86% who are working from home who weren’t before the pandemic said they would like to keep working from home … at least some, or most, of the time. Only 5% of those surveyed said they want to be back in a physical workplace full-time after the pandemic.

Speaking of working from home … Apparently there is now a wristband that lets your boss know how you’re feeling. No joke. The bracelet, called a Moodbeam, is designed to allow remote workers to let their bosses know their emotional state. The wristband, which links to an app on your phone, has two buttons, one yellow and one blue. Apparently, you press the yellow one if you’re happy, and the blue one if you’re sad. Yeah, no … (BBC)

Lewis Capaldi may be ready to shake up his personal life in a big way — by changing his underwear preference from boxers to briefs.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ singer swung by the On With Mario Lopez podcast to discuss his hits, his upcoming album and, most importantly, his underthings. Lewis took his usual self-mocking stance, saying: “I like a Calvin Klein brief but I don’t need them for the support, there’s nothing going on down there.”
Even so, he’s willing to follow Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes into Calvin-land, and says. “I think this year, I’m going to be 25 in October, I’m going to graduate from being a boxer man to a brief. I want my budgie to be smuggled, get the goodies on show. I’m very much looking forward to it.”
For those who don’t speak British, a budgie is a parakeet.

Blake Shelton tells NBC that he is nervous about becoming a step-father to Gwen Stefani’s children. “That’s a scary moment for me, because it’s one thing for me to be with the kids all the time and be their buddy. But then, you do have to consider after a while that they’re starting to listen to things that you say. And there’s a lot of responsibility that comes with that, which is new to me.”

Jon Bon Jovi tells Forbes magazine that he failed when singing his own song on Guitar Hero. “I decided to try ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive. I failed–it buzzed me down. So I stood up off the couch and I said, ‘All right, press play.’ They did it again, I failed again, and I said, ‘Everybody’s going to bed. That’s the end of this. Turn that off!””

The Happy Headline of the Day – Thursday, January 21

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Newport, Rhode Island, does a lot of good for families in the community. It provides food for the hungry, educates young people – and helps senior citizens stay healthy and strong.
And thanks to Jane Mead Timken, the center will be able to do even more good things as Jane sold her house – and handed over the $1.7 million in proceeds.
It was the largest gift to the organization in its 100-year history.
The idea for the donation started when all this coronavirus stuff started. Jane learned that demands for programs at the center were increasing in a big way – and fast.
So, she made the commitment and gave the center a huge boost, allowing the group to operate on firm financial footing – both now and for many years in the future.

President Trump pardoned more than 100 people on his last day in office, including rapper Lil Wayne, but “Tiger King” Joe Exotic wasn’t among them.
Back in April, Trump said he’d “take a look” at the issue — which kickstarted a campaign to get Joe released. In September, Joe’s legal team tried to hand-deliver Joe’s pardon request in D.C.
On Wednesday, Team Tiger said, “We are as disappointed that the President did not sign Joe’s pardon, as we were confident yesterday that he would.”
One person who isn’t disappointed is Joe’s nemesis, Carole Baskin. She tells BuzzFeed News, “I think only Joe’s team and the media were ever even thinking about a pardon for Joe. There is no benefit, other than a feeble attempt to deflect attention, for anyone to pardon someone who walked up to five tigers and shot them in the head in order to clear cage space for the circus, who was going to pay him to board their tigers during the offseason.”
Joe was convicted of plotting to murder Carole, among other charges.

Mossimo Giannulli has been released from solitary confinement, Us Weekly reports.
The fashion designer, and husband of Lori Loughlin, is now in the minimum security area of the Federal Correctional Institution, where he was supposed to be placed when he entered the prison in November. Instead, he spent an “extended period” in quarantine because of the pandemic.
Mossimo, who’s serving five months for his role in the college admissions scandal, is believed to have caught the virus behind bars.
His lawyers have asked for a reduction to his sentence because of his time in solitary. A judge has yet to make a decision.
Lori completed her sentence in December after two months behind bars.

The National Enquirer claims Chris Hemsworth and Jason Momoa are allegedly feuding as both are filming new movies in Australia. A source tells the magazine, “They both have huge egos, and they’ve been sniping at each other since Jason has been making himself comfortable on Chris’ home turf in Australia. Now things are getting a little personal. Chris has gotten a little jealous of all the attention Jason’s gotten in his own backyard.”

OK! magazine says Kelly Clarkson is plotting a revenge makeover to make her estranged husband, Brandon Blackstock, jealous. A source tells the magazine, ”Playing around with her look is a welcome distraction. She was tired of seeing the same old face and person in the mirror and felt she needed a boost. She’s moving on to an edgier, sleek and sexy look for both her show and her personal life. It won’t be anything over-the-top, but she’s ditching the jeans, sweats, and long-sleeved shirts and splurging on clothes that let her flash a little flesh and show off her curves. She figures it’s well overdue.”

National Hugging Day: A good day to hug it out … with someone in your pandemic pod, of course.

This is really cute … Apparently when Mindy Kaling‘s three-year-old daughter, Katherine, saw Kamala Harris being sworn in as Vice President, she asked, “Is that Mommy?” Kaling posted about the cute moment on Instagram, writing, “I was at work, but apparently she said: ‘Is that Mommy? It looks like Mommy.’ Best compliment I ever got! It matters. Happy Inauguration, everyone.” (Pop Sugar)

As they enter the White House, the Bidens are bringing along their two German Shepherds, Champ and Major. Not only do “first dogs” Champ and Major mark a return of pups to the White House, but they are entering the White House as stars in their own right, as subjects of a new children’s book called Champ and Major: First Dogs by Joy McCullough. In addition, Major has made history by becoming the first shelter dog in the White House. (People)

Super Bowl 55 is still more than two weeks away but is already making history. The teams haven’t been decided yet, but the officiating crew has been announced and it includes Sarah Thomas, the first female official in NFL history. On February 7th, she will become the first woman to officiate a Super Bowl. The NFL issued a statement saying, “Sarah Thomas has made history again as the first female Super Bowl official. Her elite performance and commitment to excellence has earned her the right to officiate the Super Bowl. Congratulations to Sarah on this well-deserved honor.” (NBC Sports)

Well, it turns out money actually does buy happiness … According to Matthew Killingsworth, a researcher from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, the more money you make, the happier you are. The reason? Having money gives you more freedom and more choices. “When you have more money, you have more choices about how to live your life,” says Killingsworth. “You can likely see this in the pandemic. People living paycheck to paycheck who lose their job might need to take the first available job to stay afloat, even if it’s one they dislike. People with a financial cushion can wait for one that’s a better fit. Across decisions big and small, having more money gives a person more choices and a greater sense of autonomy.”

Lady Gaga was in Washington, DC Tuesday night on the eve of her historic national anthem performance at yesterday’s Presidential Inauguration, and she took some time to visit the U.S. Capitol and say a prayer.
Gaga tweeted a photo of herself praying inside the empty rotunda, which was filled with rioters two weeks ago. She wrote, “I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls.”

Cher may do a virtual concert. She posted: “Was thinking of doing virtual Concert.. Some Of My favorites that were Never Hits & Some that were…. only Problem … BEEN SINGING 50+ YRS… TOO MANY SONGS”

Stevie Nicks tells NPR.org that being in a band is like being on a basketball team. “In the Fleetwood Mac world … it’s like you’re on a basketball team. You have to be a team player when you’re in a band. You’re never going to be able to be like that freewheeling, roller-skating woman that I am in my own world.”
