Residents at 19 nursing homes in West Virginia will receive Valentine’s Day cards and messages — thanks to Girl Scouts in the area.
Different Girl Scout troops got together to coordinate their efforts and the results have been fantastic.
Because of their hard work and organization, more than 3,000 handmade cards have been mailed to the nursing home residents.
Those involved with the project have seen how great it is that people of this older generation now have a connection with a younger generation.
But mostly, it’s about sharing a little love this holiday. (WVNews)

Thursday in court, Britney Spears won a partial victory. The judge denied her father’s request to regain full control of the conservatorship.
Jamie Spears must share equal power with Bessemer Trust, a company that Britney selected last year. She wanted Bessemer to become the sole conservator and asked the judge to dismiss her father.
Judge Brenda Penny split the difference. Bessemer and Jamie are co-conservators of Britney’s estate. Together, they will map investment plans and budgets for Britney. The court wishes to hear these decisions in two scheduled hearings mid-March and late-April. (Variety)

Shia LaBeouf denies every one of the claims ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs brought against him in her lawsuit.
The singer, born Tahliah Barnett, sued LaBeouf in December, claiming he sexually and physically assaulted and battered her, and knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease.
In a response to her suit, his legal team says the actor “denies, generally and specifically, each and every allegation contained in [Barnett]’s Complaint, denies that [Barnett] has sustained any injury or loss by reason of any act or omission on the part of [LaBeouf], and denies that [Barnett] is entitled to any relief or damages whatsoever.”
LaBeouf also wants Twigs to be ordered to pay for his legal costs.
Earlier this week, the star stepped away from his talent agency CAA and is now on an acting hiatus. A source says the break is “so that he can get the help he needs.”

Woman’s Day magazine claims Brad Pitt’s former married girlfriend, Nicole Poturalski, is around five months pregnant. A source says the couple split up five or six months ago. “If Nicole is indeed pregnant, he would be blindsided. But he’d certainly take this matter seriously. He’ll want to be 100 percent sure and will want to check in on Nicole to see that everything is OK. Angelina was appalled by Brad’s decision to take Nicole to the chateau. The baby news would be heartbreaking for her.”

HBO Content Chief Casey Bloys tells Entertainment Weekly that HBO Max will most likely air the ”Friends” reunion special this Spring. ”I don’t know exactly. I would imagine maybe they’re doing some bits here and there. But yes, the idea is that they would be together. The COVID situation has been complicated — not just for this, but for television production across the board. So we’re kind of dealing with that as it comes, but it will be this spring.”

According to USA Today, feng shui principles dictate that the Ox represents the most hard-working of the zodiac and signifies a year of movement and change. Let’s hope that means life will get moving again too!

We’ve been spending most of our time with just the people we live with – and Valentine’s Day won’t be any different. A new survey by dating app Plenty of Fish found that 65% of respondents said they would be spending Valentine’s Day with their “quaran-team” at home. And 70% said they felt less pressure around Valentine’s Day than they had in years past. Even so, people are optimistic about finding love in the new year, with 57% of the singles surveyed saying they were optimistic about finding “The One” in 2021. And this is interesting: 57% also said they are now more open to dating people they wouldn’t have before. And it looks like the pandemic has brought out the romantic sides of people. 58% of those surveyed said romantic gestures are more important to them now than they were before COVID. And it may gave made them nicer, too. 39% of the people surveyed said they think ghosting will become a thing of the past once the pandemic ends. (SWNS)

Last year, roughly 28 million dog-owning households gave their pup a Valentine’s Day Gift and 17 million got gifts for their cats. Americans spend an estimated $751.3 million on gifts for their pets on Valentine’s Day. (Good Housekeeping)

Speaking of pets … Can you tell what your pet is thinking? Seems a lot of people think so. A recent survey found that 76% of the pet owners polled said they can always tell what their pet is thinking by the look on his or her face. 80% of respondents believe their pet has a “very distinct personality.” And 55% say they share similar personality traits with their pet – which probably explains why 64% described their pet as smart. Bruce Springsteen’s Super Bowl Commercial is now ‘Dancing in the Dark.’ Jeep pulled the ad following a report that ‘The Boss’ was charged with a DWI back in November. The 71-year-old singer was in his home state of New Jersey when he was pulled over. And apparently Jeep didn’t love the idea of a drunk driver being featured in their Super Bowl car commercial. They took the two-minute ad down from YouTube. But as of last night, Springsteen still had the ad up on his Twitter page.

Winters are usually quite chilly in Appleton, Wisconsin, but that hasn’t stopped Chick-fil-A employee Hoku Taniguchi from getting back and forth to work on her bike.
That all changed when her friend and co-worker Haley Bridges gave her a car.
You see, Haley won the car during a holiday party raffle back in December. She already had a car, so instead of keeping it herself, Haley offered it up as a gift.
It didn’t take long for Haley’s gesture of kindness to be repaid, as Haley’s aunt held a fundraiser to get her auto loan completely paid off.
Now, both friends have reliable transportation — and no car payments.
Haley calls her co-workers her “second family” — and was thrilled be able to help make her close friend Hoku’s life easier, especially during these winter months. (People)

The Daily Dish – Thursday, February 11

First Armie Hammer was accused of being a cannibal wannabe, then a murder suspect. Now the star is accused of giving an ex-girlfriend a bruised behind.
Jessica Ciencin Henriquez posted a photo from early September on her private Instagram account. Page Six says the image shows Jessica with a large bruise on her backside — which a source claims was caused by Armie.
The photo came with a cryptic caption about not cleaning “up the messes that other people make of their lives” and “to accept the ‘truth.’ ”
This new rumor comes after the actor was accused of emotional and sexual abuse from ex-girlfriends and of sharing his fantasies of cannibalism.
This week police in San Bernardino County denied he was a suspect in a Wonder Valley murder investigation.

Buffy the Vampire star Charisma Carpenter alleges Joss Whedon “abused his power on numerous occasions” on the sets of Buffy and Angel.
In a lengthy statement posted to Twitter on Wednesday, Carpenter said that after learning she was pregnant, Whedon asked if she was “going to keep it.” She said after giving birth she was fired.
Carpenter said she came forward because of actor Ray Fisher, who alleges that Whedon engaged in “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable” behavior on the set of Justice League.
Carpenter’s Buffy co-stars are standing by her. Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Buffy, posted a statement on Instagram, saying, “While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon.”
Michelle Trachtenberg, who played Buffy’s sister, re-posted Gellar’s statement, and said that Whedon’s behavior with her “as a teenager” was “not appropriate.”

Ace Showbiz says Gina Carano has been fired from “The Mandalorian” for posting offensive social media messages.
Lucasfilm released a statement saying,  “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
Gina played Cara Dune on the Disney+ show.

HBO Content Chief Casey Bloys tells TVLine that Kim Cattrall’s absence from the ”Sex and the City” reboot is because her character is no longer friends with Carrie, Charlotte or Miranda. ”Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships fade, and new friendships start.”
