In Mason City, Iowa, a hero police dog named Kilo was able to locate a two-year-old boy who had wandered away from home.
It seems the toddler went for a walk with the family dog — without telling his family.
The family called the Mason City Police Department for help, and K9 Kilo and Officer Duane Kemna started to track the scent. It all worked out.
Kilo was able to track the missing child along a creek to a neighbor’s property, where he was found sitting with the family dog by his side. He had removed his wet socks, shoes and coat.
The boy was safely returned home — thanks to the skills of K9 Kilo.

It looks like working from home is going to be the way of the future … and in order to make a separation between “the office” and home, people are building tiny backyard offices. Basically, they are she-sheds – for work. And a number of companies have popped up that will build these office sheds for you. One such company is Illinois based INshed. Yahoo News says too much Halloween candy can have a toxic effect on your brain. Renowned psychotherapist and brain health expert Dr. Teralyn Sell tells Yahoo, “In adults or in children, extensive use of sugar can precipitate mental health problems, Adults might be anxious, fatigued, and irritable while children might be hyperactive, lack focus and concentration, and have a tantrum. Make sure your kids eat higher protein snacks before and after candy, This will help stabilize blood sugar and help to avoid mood issues. In general, avoid using sugar as a reward mechanism. And to prevent the Halloween haul from affecting your sleep cycle, avoid snacking on candy before bed. Instead, opt for a small protein snack.”

Adele wasn’t expected to sing during her first time hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend. The show had R-and-B artist H.E.R. (pr: Her) as musical guest, but you figured they might work a vocal in somewhere — and they did.
Despite explaining at the top of her opening monologue that she wouldn’t be singing because her new album’s not finished and she was too scared to both host and sing, Adele did what amounted to a hits medley during a sketch that had her playing herself as a contestant on The Bachelor. With interruptions in between, she sang snippets of  “Someone Like You,”  “When We Were Young,” “Hello” and “Rolling in the Deep,” before finishing with a longer excerpt from “Someone Like You.”

The way to Lewis Capaldi’s heart is through his stomach — as he proved by taking part in a quirky experiment that tried to match up singles through their favorite foods.
The trial was set up after a recent survey of British singles showed that one in four said they’d only get serious about someone who liked the same grub they do. In the test, Lewis tasted three dishes created by mystery gals and struggled to make his decision, but landed on a plate of chicken nachos made by a woman named Megan.
Capaldi was asked if the experience would end up on his upcoming album, and he seemed to like the idea. He says, “Yes. I’ve always wanted to do culinary-themed music, and I’ve always said there is a market for it. ‘Megan’s Nachos’ coming 2021.” (Edinburgh News)

Ed Sheeran fanatics will have a chance to buy his actual “Lego House,” among other relics, at a charity auction his parents are staging in his hometown.

Proceeds from the auction which ends November 8th, will go towards supporting young people in Ed’s home county of Suffolk, including renovation of a playground in Ipswich. (BBC)

OK! magazine claims Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are allegedly feeling pressure to get engaged on ”The Voice.” A source tells the magazine, “The entire cast of Blake, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Gwen are all feeling extreme pressure to bring in the ratings this season. With the pandemic, it has been difficult building the same excitement around the show, which is why the personal life of every single person sitting in a red chair will now be highlighted even more than ever before — with Blake and Gwen feeling pressured to deliver a ‘surprise’ engagement proposal on the show. The absence of a live audience is a huge loss for the show and the performers who thrive on the energy from the crowd, which is why the show needs as many tricks and gimmicks to bring the excitement to the show. Nothing would be more exciting than Blake or maybe Gwen dropping down to one knee and popping the question in front of all of America. These two met and fell in love on the show, so this would be a full circle moment. Plus, it would ensure that Nick Jonas wouldn’t be invited back next season to replace Gwen!”

Other studies have found that classical music has a calming effect on dogs, while heavy metal increases stress and anxiety. So, it sounds like you should keep The Coast on all day in the house to keep yourself, and your puppies, happy.

Speaking of Halloween … Seems there’s a new TikTok trend where people are super-gluing vampire fangs to their teeth. What could go wrong? Yep, superglue is super strong – and they’re having a super hard time getting the fangs off. There are tons of videos of teens yanking on their teeth to try and remove them. No surprise – dentists are warning against this. First, they say to never use superglue or nail glue on your teeth. If you’ve tried it and your fangs get stuck, see a dentist immediately to remove them. If you aren’t able to see a dentist, don’t pull on them – just leave them alone until they fall off on their own. And if you really want to put fangs on your teeth for Halloween, dentists say to use something safe – like denture adhesive. (Insider)

A new study by Maastricht University in the Netherlands reveals that mood lighting in restaurants may make food taste bad. Researchers say, ”Guests dining in a brightly lit restaurant perceive the overall taste of a dish – created for the purpose of the study – to be more intense than guests dining in a dimly lit restaurant. The results thus show that modifying the ambient illuminance level in a restaurant does not only affect the overall ambience, but also changes the overall taste experience of the food being served”

The Daily Mail says brushing your teeth can help ward off the coronavirus because toothpaste contains some of the same antibacterials as hand sanitizer.
Professor Martin Addy tells the paper, ”Toothpaste contains the same detergents as those found in handwash gels recommended. The antimicrobial action of toothpaste in the mouth persists for three to five hours and, thereby, would reduce the viral load in saliva or infection by viruses entering the mouth. For the vast majority, the timing of tooth brushing should be focused when they are about to go out of their homes for exercise or shopping. Ideally, tooth brushing frequency should be increased.”

She wrote, “Over the past couple months I have dug deep into the science of consciousness and experienced not only peace and serenity like I’ve never known, but I also have witnessed the most incredibly profound sightings both in the sky as well as feet away from me.”
She went on to say that just about anyone can get in on the alien action. “To make contact yourself you can download the CE5 app and it will teach you the protocols to connect to life from beyond our planet! If it doesn’t happen on the first try — keep trying — it took me several sessions to tap into a deep enough level of meditation to make contact!”
