National Dogs in Politics Day: A day to celebrate all the First Dogs that have lived at the White House.

How many times a day do you worry about your health? How often do you google your “symptoms”? A new survey has found that the average American has had 560 moments of worry about their health since the start of COVID-19. And two-thirds of those surveyed said that their immune health is a constant source of worry. 30% said they didn’t even know what the immune system did before coronavirus. Since the pandemic started, 80% of respondents said they are re-thinking their health priorities and 85% want to make their healthy lifestyle changes permanent. (SWNS)

Proof positive that social media challenges for the perfect photo or video are going too far, A woman in England fell out the passenger side window, onto a busy highway – while filming a Snapchat video. Police said it was “only by luck she wasn’t seriously injured or killed.” (Insider)

Researchers at Oxford University have concluded that people who live near a bar or pub are happier than those who don’t. They found that people who had a pub on their street that they frequented had a larger circle of friends and therefore a better social life. They also found that these people are less likely to get fall-down drunk … probably because it’s easier to fall down if you have a longer distance to walk instead of just down the street. (BroBible)

Yesterday, pre-orders for the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S were offered by retailers and thousands of gamers got online — and got in line — to get one of the new systems when they become available this November. Not surprisingly, there were reports of sites crashing and people struggling to add the product to their online shopping cart. By the end of the day, the pre-orders were pretty much sold out.

Harry Styles‘s now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame… Well at least his over-the-top fashion is.
He isn’t an official inductee, but the Cleveland museum has picked up one of his over-the-top suits for display. The Rock Hall nabbed the Gucci suit that Harry wore when inducting his pal Stevie Nicks last year. The outfit’s on display in the museum’s “Right Here, Right Now” exhibit, which occupies a prime spot on the main floor.

Rapper Post Malone‘s music was absolutely everywhere this past year, which explains him getting the most nominations at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards.

Ellen DeGeneres returned to her talk show Monday and finally addressed the controversy surrounding her.
The comedian started things by saying, “If you’re watching because you love me, thank you. If you’re watching because you don’t love me, welcome.”
She added, “How was everybody’s summer, good? Mine was great. Super terrific.”
In recent months, Ellen has been inundated with allegations, from creating a toxic workplace to being mean to guests. The star, who fired three executives from her show, said, “I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say that I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realize with that power comes responsibility and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”
She insisted that after apologizing and speaking to staff “we have made the necessary changes and today we are starting a new chapter.”
Ellen also said she’s really the person that people see on TV, but she’s “also a lot of other things,” noting that she gets sad, mad, frustrated, anxious and impatient. “I’m working on all of that,” she said. “I am a work in progress.”
People magazine reports that her wife, Portia de Rossi, was backstage to support her and that the crew applauded Ellen when she walked off the set after taping.

Sharon Osbourne is in quarantine after one of her granddaughters came down with COVID-19. While remotely co-hosting Monday’s episode of The Talk, she explained that she was meant to be in the studio but couldn’t after Minnie OsbourneJack‘s two-year-old daughter, caught the virus. Sharon added that she doesn’t “have it. Her daddy doesn’t have it. Her mommy doesn’t have it. Her sisters don’t. She caught it from somebody that works for my son. And it just goes to show you…that children can get COVID.” (Blabbermouth)

Gwen Stefani tells NBC that she has learned how to bake during the pandemic. “It’s been pretty magical for Blake and I and the kids because we don’t ever have that much solid time together. We did do a lot of fun stuff. We did a lot of cooking. I learned how to make sourdough bread like everybody else. It took me like a month to get my starter right. We did so much stuff. We built a garden, we planed zinnias. We planted thousands of zinnia flowers. It was just like a lot of stuff you kind of dream about doing but you never have time to do.”

Harry Styles tells Rolling Stone magazine that One Direction played a wedding on the cheap when they were still teenagers. “One hundred sixty quid, between all four of us! Forty quid each. We said we’d do it, and then we found out it was the weekend coming up, and we hadn’t done anything for it. So we asked the bride what kind of stuff she wanted, and she said she didn’t mind, but she wanted some Bob Marley songs. Literally in three days, not even three, probably two days, we learned like 25 songs. We might have known like three of them before. I was 16, maybe 15, singing these Bob Marley songs. There was a girl a couple of years below us, and it was her mom. She said she wanted us to play.”

Schitt’s Creek swept the comedy category and Succession was named best drama at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards — which was dominated by the coronavirus.
Most acceptance speeches came via satellite and awards were handed out by people in hazmat suits. Jimmy Kimmel hosted the event live from an empty Staples Center in Los Angeles. “Why are we having an awards show in the middle of a pandemic?” he asked the cardboard cutout audience. “What the hell am I doing here? This is the year they decide to have a host?”
According to reports, producers had sent more than 130 cameras to nominees in 10 countries.
It was a historic night, besides the virtual show, with several notable records set. Schitt’s Creek became the first series to win every major comedy award — including acting wins for Eugene Levy, Daniel Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Annie MurphyWatchmen’s win in the limited series category  was the first time a comic-book adaptation walked away with a top prize. Zendaya was the youngest-ever winner for lead drama actress at age 24. Regina King’s win for lead actress in a limited series or movie was her fourth career Emmy and tied her with Alfre Woodard for most acting Emmys won by a Black performer.
Nine out of the 18 acting awards went to Black actors on Sunday night.
Tyler Perry received the Governors Award, which was presented to him by Oprah Winfrey and Chris Rock.

Eddie Murphy has delayed his highly anticipated return to standup.
The comedian, who won his first Emmy for hosting SNL last year, doesn’t think it’s a time for funny business. During the virtual backstage at the Creative Arts Emmys, Eddie said, “These are really serious times, no times for joking. I don’t know right now if there should be any comedic commentary. We’re still right in the middle of everything.”
He thinks we’ll “need comedic commentary and some laughs” in a “year or so.”
Eddie insists that “as soon as it’s clear to go back out there, that was the plan, that is the plan.”
The star hasn’t done a major standup tour in more than 30 years

TODAY IS: World Gratitude Day

The Sunday Blues are more like the Sunday Stress … A new survey found that people start to feel anxiety about the upcoming workweek at 3:58 p.m. on Sundays. 88% of respondents said they regularly feel anxiety on Sunday about what Monday morning will bring. The survey also revealed that a whole lot of us are working on the weekends – with the average worker doing about three hours of unpaid work on Saturdays and Sundays. 45% said they were looking at emails, 38% said they were going over presentations, and 31% said they made business calls over the weekend. And the survey found that people think about work and their jobs about six times a weekend.

Are you happier around your friends than your family? Don’t be embarrassed to admit it … because you are definitely not alone. A new study from Southern Methodist University found that people are happier when they’re with their friends than with their spouse or kids. In fact, the research found that people reported the lowest levels of happiness when they were with a significant other. Ouch. But there’s a pretty good reason for this: The study found that when people are with friends, it typically involves fun, social events. The time spent with family tends to involve less fun activities – like doing chores. So basically, it’s not so much who you are with – but what you’re doing.
The lesson in all of this – according to SMU psychology professor Nathan Hudson, is to make an effort to do fun things with family – not just with friends. “It’s important to create opportunities for positive experiences with romantic partners and children – and to really mentally savor those positive times. In contrast, family relationships that involve nothing but chores, housework, and childcare likely won’t predict a lot of happiness.”

IIamas May Hold Key To Beating Coronavirus: Raw Story says Stockholm, Sweden scientists are developing a coronavirus vaccine using llamas and alpacas. Dr. Gerald McInearney tells the website, “Camels, and alpacas and llamas and other animals from that family have special, small single-chain antibodies. Tiny antibodies they’ve proved can block Covid-19. We are very excited that we have something that’s very functional.”

Harry Styles could be in line for an arresting new role — as a gay cop who has to hide his sexuality from his colleagues back in the 1950s.
According to Deadline, Harry is the top choice to play the lead in My Policeman, an Amazon adaptation of a popular British novel by Bethan Roberts. The story, which is told in flashbacks, is about a cop who falls in love with another man, but is forced to repress that and marry a woman — since homosexuality was actually a felony in Great Britain back then. The book is largely set in the ’90s, when Harry’s character and his wife become caretakers for that now-disabled first love.
Styles is already confirmed for a major role in the thriller Don’t Worry Darling.

Jerry Harris, who stars on the Netflix series Cheer, was arrested Thursday in Chicago on a federal child pornography charge.
According to Fox News, the 21-year-old was taken into custody “for allegedly enticing an underage boy to produce sexually explicit photos and videos of himself.”
The charge carries a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years.
This comes just days after it was revealed that the FBI executed a search warrant on his home in Naperville, Illinois.
A spokesperson for Harris tells TMZ: “We categorically dispute the claims made against Jerry Harris, which are alleged to have occurred when he was a teenager. We are confident that when the investigation is complete the true facts will be revealed.”

Lori’s set to surrender by November 19th at the prison for her role in that college admissions scandal.

Jim Carrey will be taking a big role in the upcoming season of Saturday Night Live. He’ll play Joe Biden when the show returns for Season 46 on October 3rd.
Jason Sudeikis had been impersonating the former vice president, but he’s apparently been voted out.
Producer Lorne Michaels says it was Jim’s idea. In an interview with Vulture, Lorne explains, “There was some interest on his part. And then we responded, obviously, positively. But it came down to discussions about what the take was. He and Colin Jost had a bunch of talks. He and I as well. He will give the part energy and strength, and…hopefully it’s funny.”
Though Jason is out, Alec Baldwin will return as President Trump and Maya Rudolph will be back as Kamala Harris.
When the new season kicks off on October 3rd, the entire cast from last season will return to the studio.

Chris Rock wasn’t mad at Jimmy Fallon’s recently resurfaced blackface impersonation of him on Saturday Night Live 20 years ago.
Rock tells The New York Times, “Hey, man, I’m friends with Jimmy. Jimmy’s a great guy. And he didn’t mean anything.”
Jimmy’s performance resurfaced over the summer and prompted calls for The Tonight Show host to be canceled. But Chris believes the impersonation wasn’t meant to be hurtful. “A lot of people want to say intention doesn’t matter, but it does. And I don’t think Jimmy Fallon intended to hurt me. And he didn’t.”
Jimmy eventually apologized saying “there was no excuse for this.”

Paris says she doesn’t want to be “remembered for some airhead, but the businesswoman” she is.

Madonna will do something unique among rock and pop artists — she plans to direct a biographical movie about herself!
After teasing the project across social media, the best-selling female recording star of all-time will collaborate with screenwriter Diablo Cody on her journey from a struggling New York performer to global superstardom.
While we’ve seen Elton John and the surviving members of Queen have considerable input on movies telling their stories, this is the first time a recording legend has led the creative team and will have the last word on the film.
Variety reports that the movie will be distributed by Universal with longtime studio executive Amy Pascal producing, along with Madonna’s business partner Guy Oseary.
Calling the project “an absolute labor of love for me,” Pascal says, “I have known Madonna since we made A League of Their Own together, and I can’t imagine anything more thrilling than collaborating with her and Diablo on bringing her true-life story to the big screen.”
It’s too early for information regarding casting, a release date or even what the movie will be called.

Britney Spears and her dad Jamie have a new battle in her conservatorship — this one over bringing back the person that used to help manage her estate.

In the filing Britney says she’s done performing for a while and needs to make “difficult budgetary choices going forward.” And bringing Wallet back on board, who was paid nearly a half-million dollars a year for the last five years he worked for her, is just too expensive.
Jamie says that Britney’s objections are full of factual misstatements and he’s asked the court to hold a hearing to go over all the facts.
