Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ First Album To Pass 2 Million In Sales Since 2015

Taylor Swift has sold more than 2 million copies of “Reputation” — making it the first album to accomplish that feat since Adele’s “25” in 2015, according to Nielsen Music numbers via Billboard. Celine Dion Cancels Las Vegas Concerts To Undergo Surgery

Superstar Celine Dion has canceled a stretch of concerts in Las Vegas as she undergoes surgery for an ear condition. Dion, who turns 50 later this month, said she has been suffering from Patulous Eustachian tube, when a middle opening in the ear is abnormally open, affecting hearing. The singer said that her medication was no longer succeeding in treating the condition, requiring her to undergo a “minimally invasive surgical procedure.” She canceled shows set from March 27 to April 18 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Disney Theme Parks Reveal New Marvel Superhero Attractions

On Tuesday, Disney announced that Marvel superhero-themed lands will be coming to Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disney in 2020. The lands are being developed in partnership with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment. At Disney California Adventure, the new Marvel land will open in 2020 surrounding the Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT, attractionwhich opened in 2017 to replace the Hollywood Tower of Terror attraction. Disney describes the land as “a completely immersive Super Hero universe.” At Disneyland Paris, a Marvel-themed area will be added to Walt Disney Studios Park and will include an attraction where riders will team up with Iron Man and the Avengers. And Hong Kong Disneyland has already started its Marvel-themed expansion plans, which will include a new attraction where riders can team with Ant-Man and The Wasp. Fox Network Defends Fred Savage Against Claims Of Harassment And Aggressive Behavior

Fox has investigated claims that actor Fred Savage verbally harassed female crew members on the set of The Grinderback when the show was on the air in 2015-2016, and said “no evidence” was found. “Fox takes all allegations of improper conduct very seriously,” 20th Century Fox said. “We conducted a thorough investigation into these allegations and found no evidence of any wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Savage. First Look At Renee Zellweger’s Transformation Into Judy Garland For New Biopic

The first photo of Renée Zellweger portraying Judy Garland in the upcoming biopic, “Judy,” has been released, and the 48-year-old star certainly has transformed herself into the legendary icon. Zellweger is rocking a brunette pixie cut and a black, off-the-shoulder floral dress in the picture, and appears to be singing while holding a microphone. It was also confirmed that Zellweger will in fact be singing in the movie, rather than using Garland’s past recordings.  “Judy” will take place during the winter of 1968, 30 years after Garland starred as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz.” The film will follow Garland as she prepares for her sold-out run at The Talk of the Town nightclub. Big Little Lies stars Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern reunited on the show’s set Monday.  The actresses shared a photo in costume as Madeleine Mackenzie and Renata Klein while filming Season 2 of the HBO series. The picture shows Witherspoon and Dern sitting outside Seaside Coffee Shop in Monterey, California. “Watch out Monterery, here we come! #BLL2,” Witherspoon captioned the snapshot on Instagram. Fifth Harmony Announce Hiatus to Pursue Solo Careers

Fifth Harmony announced on Monday, March 19 that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus in order to pursue solo endeavors. The surprising announcement came from group members Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui. Less than a week after the announcement that Grey’s Anatomy cast member Sarah Drew will be exiting the series at the end of the current 14th season, she has been hired as Cagney in CBS’ Cagney & Lacey reboot. Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless played the title characters in the original Cagney & Lacey, which ran on CBS for seven seasons. Claire Foy Was Paid Less Than Co-Star Matt Smith For Netflix’s “The Crown'”

Executive producers of the Netflix series “The Crown” confirmed that series star Claire Foy was paid less than co-star Matt Smith. Reports had surfaced that Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth II, earned less than Smith, who portrays Prince Philip.  Producers said the inequity was influenced by Smith’s experience as an actor. The 35-year-old star joined The Crown after starring as the 11th Doctor in three seasons of the BBC series Doctor Who.  However they did promise that “going forward, no one gets paid more than the Queen,” according to executive producer Suzanne Mackie. It was first reported by Variety that Foy made $40,000 per episode. The 33-year-old actress played Queen Elizabeth in the first two seasons, but will be replaced by Olivia Colman in Season 3 as the show’s timeline progresses. Disney Shares Progress Video Of Their “Star Wars” Attraction

There is still quite a wait before the “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” attractions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are set to debut, but fans are getting a sneak peak via the official video released by Disney Parks. The attractions at both parks are expected to open sometime in 2019.  As seen in the video, a large portion of the attraction’s exterior structures have been created. Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm has opened up incredible opportunities, like Galaxy’s Edge and the upcoming immersive hotel. Actress Heather Locklear Facing Four Counts Of Battery And Banned From Owning Firearms

Heather Locklear has been charged with several counts of battery against first responders who answered a domestic violence call at her Southern California home. The 56-year-old actress was charged with four misdemeanor counts of battery on an officer or emergency personnel, and one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer. According to the charges, Locklear kicked, pushed and shouted at deputies who were answering a report that she had been violent with her boyfriend Feb. 26. No domestic violence charges have been filed. Locklear’s representatives did not immediately reply to requests for comment. ABC’s revival of “American Idol” was the top show on Sunday night, according to Nielsen overnight data. “American Idol” drew a 2.3 rating in adults 18-49 ad 10.3 million viewers.  However compared to the final Fox season premiere of “American Idol” in 2016, which drew a 3.0 rating and 10.96 million viewers, the ABC premiere was down approximately 23% from the last Fox season. Nun Battling Katy Perry Over Convent Sale Dies In Court

A nun involved in a legal battle over Katy Perry’s bid to buy a Los Angeles convent collapsed and died during a Friday court appearance. Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, of the Sisters of the Most Holy And Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was 89. Holzman was among the nuns fighting for the ability to sell their former hilltop convent in Los Feliz to local businesswoman Dana Hollister, in direct opposition to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ wish to sell the property to superstar Katy Perry. Hollister had plans to turn the convent into a hotel, while Perry reportedly wanted to live there. A judge sided with the archdiocese and Perry, and invalidated the sale to Hollister, back in 2016. In November of last year, a jury found that Hollister had intentionally interfered with the sale to Perry and a judge ordered her to pay millions to the archdiocese and the singer. Just hours before she died, Holzman gave an interview with Sister Rita Callanan, appealing to the Vatican to give them control over their convent. ‘Black Panther’ Reaches $1 Billion Globally

Disney’s Black Panther has passed the $1 billion mark at the global box office. The studio said Saturday, March 10 that the milestone is based on Disney’s estimate of ticket sales. The announcement comes on the 26th day of release for the blockbuster. The movie is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan. Black Panther is the fifth film in its Marvel universe to reach the milestone. The others are The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, and Captain America: Civil War. ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Stars Jessica Capshaw And Sarah Drew To Exit Show

Two of fictional Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital’s longest-serving doctors are leaving the hit ABC show “Grey’s Anatomy.”  Stars Jessica Capshaw, who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins, and Sarah Drew, known as Dr. April Kepner, are leaving the medical drama in a major casting shake-up. Reports are that producers made the decision despite the fact that ABC hasn’t renewed the show yet for a fifteenth season. Drew got emotional in a statement on Twitter that suggested the news took her by surprise. “Suits” Spinoff Starring Gina Torres Receives Series Pickup

The TV show Suits is expanding, as the spin-off starring Gina Torres has received a series pickup at USA Network. The currently untitled series, which will be introduced in Suits‘ season 7 finale, will follow lawyer Jessica Pearson (Torres) as she “adjusts to the dirty world of Chicago politics,” according to the press release announcing the news. “It was an extraordinary pleasure working with Gina on Suits for six years. Beyond her undeniable talent, she is an incredible partner and collaborator, and I always hoped we would work together again,” said Suits creator Aaron Korsh, who will executive produce and write the spin-off alongside EP and showrunner Daniel Arkin. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s dog Puddy has died. Teigen revealed the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Wednesday, March 7, sharing multiple photos of herself with her pup. “Today our baby, Puddy, has gone on to the pup heavens. John and I got Puddy in our first year of dating” she revealed. “10 years ago, on May 30th, I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel. He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies. Former Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee claims he was attacked on Monday, March 6, by his 21-year-old son Brandon.  Lee, who shares sons Brandon and Dylan with ex-wife Pamela Anderson, posted a photo of his swollen and bloodied mouth that evening. “My heart is broken,” the 55-year-old Lee said in tweet before it was deleted.  TMZ published details of the alleged altercation, claiming that Brandon had been acting in self-defense. However, Tommy responded on Twitter denying the altercation happened that way, saying “My fiancé and I were in bed when my son busted into the room and assaulted me. I asked him to the leave house and he knocked me unconscious. He ran away from the police. THAT’s the truth.”  According to sources, Lee plans to proceed with pressing criminal charges against Brandon. Sgt. Matthew Dunn of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that Brandon has been named a person of interest related to a dispute with his father over a social media post, but no arrests have been made. Tony-Winning Actress Ruthie Ann Miles Injured In Car Crash That Killed Her 4-Year-Old Daughter

A Tony-winning actress was hospitalized, and her 4-year-old daughter has died, after they were hit by a car in Brooklyn, New York Ruthie Ann Blumenstein, whose stage name is Ruthie Ann Miles, won a Tony Award in 2015 for her role in the Broadway revival of The King and I. According to the New York Daily News, she, her daughter Abigail, another woman with a 1-year-old son, and a fifth victim were struck when a driver ran a red light. Both children did not survive.  Reports claim that the driver is said to have suffered a seizure and does not remember the crash. Miles, who is also pregnant, is said to be in stable condition at a Brooklyn hospital as of early Tuesday. The other woman, Miles’ friend Lauren Lew, is also recovering. 2018 Oscars TV Ratings Hit All-Time Low

According to a round-up of local Nielsen markets, the 90th Annual Academy Awards was down 16 percent to an 18.9 household rating, down from last year’s near-low of 22.4. That’s also down from the prior lowest ratings on record, which was a 21.9 household rating from 2008. While the Oscars remain one of TV’s most viewed events at around 29 million viewers, just last year it was 32 million. Any number of factors are often blamed for a low-rated award shows. One reason being offered for the latest drop in Oscar ratings is the fact that this year’s crop of Best Picture nominees featured few box-office blockbusters. The highest box-office gross among the Best Picture nominees belonged to the World War II drama Dunkirk ($525 million worldwide), which came up short in the major categories but ultimately went home with three Oscars for film editing and sound editing and mixing. An even bigger driving factor for Oscars’ recent ratings decline is the rapidly-changing viewing habits of TV audiences, more of whom are choosing to stream their favorite content online (including on social media) rather than watching live on TV. ... Frances McDormand has been reunited with her best actress Academy Award after it was snatched during a post-Oscar party Sunday.  McDormand, 60, was upset after her award was snatched from her table while celebrating at the Governors Ball on Sunday night, TMZ reported. Security was dispatched to find the Academy Award, which had McDormand’s named engraved on it, after it went missing. Winning recipients of the award get their names engraved on it at the Governors Ball. The man who allegedly stole the award was arrested and police identified the suspect as Terry Bryant, 47. 2018 Oscars Winners List: ‘The Shape of Water’ And Guillermo del Toro Win Top Honors

The 90th Annual Academy Awards took place Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and “The Shape of Water” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” both had big nights.  The first award of the night went to Sam Rockwell for best supporting actor for his role in “Three Billboards.”  Later in the evening, “Three Billboard’s” Frances McDormand won for best actress, and used her speech to promote gender equality. Allison Janney won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in “I, Tonya” and joked in her speech, “I did it all by myself.” Gary Oldman won best actor for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour.”  The big award of the evening, for best picture, went to “The Shape of Water.” It was the second award for Guillermo del Toro, who also won for best director.   See highlights and the full list of winners in the linked article below....
