Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are taking time to get to know the latest addition to their family.
The couple have confirmed they will be taking parental leave from their foundation Archewell after their daughter’s birth.
On their website, they said, “While the Duke and Duchess are on parental leave, Archewell will continue to do important work and publish stories on the site”
Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday,
Meg and Harry also asked anyone wanting to send the family gifts to please “support or learn more about these organizations working for women and girls: Girls Inc., Harvest Home, CAMFED or Myna Mahila Foundation.”
The two started Archewell in January 2020 after stepping away from the British royal family.  The company also includes their film and TV production company Archewell Productions, and their podcast company, Archewell Audio.

Ellie Kemper apologized Monday for participating in a 1999 debutante ball run by an organization accused of having a racist history.
In an Instagram post, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star said, “The century-old organization that hosted the debutante ball had an unquestionably racist, sexist, and elitist past. I was not aware of this history at the time, but ignorance is no excuse. I was old enough to have educated myself before getting involved.”
The controversy erupted last week when Twitter users unearthed a 1999 article from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch showing that Ellie was crowned the “Queen of Love and Beauty” at the Veiled Prophet Ball. She was a 19-year-old student at Princeton University at the time.
The Veiled Prophet organization was founded in 1878 by a former Confederate officer and was meant for the elite. Black people weren’t accepted into the organization until 1979.
In her statement, Ellie wrote, “I unequivocally deplore, denounce, and reject white supremacy.” She added, “I want to apologize to the people I’ve disappointed, and I promise that moving forward I will listen, continue to educate myself, and use my privilege in support of the better society I think we’re capable of becoming.”

Singer and Detroit native Kid Rock was caught on camera yelling a homophobic slur at people filming him on stage Saturday night in Smithville, Tennessee.
TMZ reports that Rock wasn’t happy with people filming him when he got on stage at FishLipz Bar & Grill. TMZ’s video shows him looking directly into one phone and yelling, “[Screw] your iPhone, yeah!” He then yelled the slur and mocked fans recording him by pointing directly at his crotch, and telling them to post that.
Apparently security was going around telling people to put down their phones before Kid Rock’s outburst. As you might imagine, the internet is ablaze calling for the shock rocker’s cancellation.

TODAY IS:
  • WORLD PET MEMORIAL DAY – It’s a holiday created by the American Veterinary Medical Association as a day to memorialize pets that have gone on to cross the rainbow bridge
  • NATIONAL JELLY-FILLED DONUT DAY – As of last count, Americans eat about 10 billion donuts annually. Jelly-filled donuts aren’t really ‘donuts’ since they don’t have a hole in the middle. They predate the invention of the donut by a few hundred years. The first known recipe was published in a German cookbook in 1532. Back then, sugar was expensive, so they stuffed them with meat or mushrooms instead (not great with coffee).
  • NATIONAL BEST FRIENDS DAY – So call up your best friends and hang out!
  • WORLD OCEAN DAY – Just another reminder of how much junk we put into our oceans and the negative impact humans have on marine life. The United Nations started World Ocean Day in 1992 to raise global awareness of all the ways humans benefit from the oceans and how important it is to use them sustainably.... [Read Full Story]

An insider told E! News (quote) “They were with friends and had a long dinner. They spent the entire evening at the hotel. Ari and Dalton definitely looked to be in the honeymoon phase — very giddy throughout the dinner.”
This was their very first time out in public since exchanging vows last month in a private ceremony. Among her special dinner guests was former Nickelodeon star Zach Sang. (E! News)

Elton JohnEd SheeranBrandi Carlile and Friends star Courteney Cox teamed up to do a jokey cover of one of Sir Elton’s big hits.
In the clip posted on Cox’s Instagram, they dedicated the performance of “Tiny Dancer” to her Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow. But they changed the chorus to “hold me closer Tony Danza.” And for some reason, Cox plays piano instead of Elton. Watch it on Instagram.
Sheeran had Cox play piano on a video he posted last week that teased the date June 25th.

Back in 1942, Grace Lee McClure Smith dropped out of high school at the age of 16, as her husband went off to fight in World War II.
Since then, Grace never forgot her time in school. She worked as a bus driver for the Madison County School Systems in Alabama — and encouraged her family to continue on with their studies.
At age 94, Grace finally was able to celebrate her high school graduation, thanks to her granddaughter Erin Wilson, who helped arrange the ceremony.
Erin explained that her grandmother Grace didn’t regret dropping out of school, but also recognized that graduation “was very important to her.”
So, Erin put the party together to make sure Grace was honored for her hard work and years of service.
Grace said she was grateful to finally graduate — 79 years after leaving school to support her husband, and went further to suggest, “It’s better late than never, isn’t it?” (WTVD-TV)

The statement adds, “Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home. Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.”
Meghan and Harry also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The couple also posted a personal message on their Archewell website, writing, “On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”
The Royal Family, which they stepped away from last year, were all delighted by the news.
Prince William and Kate Middleton said, “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili.”
And according to a statement issued by Buckingham Palace, “The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has been charged with child endangerment in Ohio.
The actor and musician, best known for starring in Drake & Josh, has pleaded not guilty.
According to BuzzFeed News, “The charges stem from a December 2017 interaction between Bell and a 15-year-old child at a Cleveland nightclub.”
Tyler Sinclair, a spokesperson for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley, says, “While there, Bell violated his duty of care and, in doing so, created a risk of harm to the victim. The investigation also revealed that months leading up to the concert, Bell sent the victim inappropriate social media messages.”
Prosecutors said the child filed her case in 2018, and that the investigation found the alleged victim had established a relationship with Bell “several years prior” and had attended a concert of his in December 2017.
Bell, who posted a $2,500 bond Thursday, was ordered to provide a DNA specimen.

Well, this will get you running to a mirror. new study claims that people with large eye pupils are more intelligent than those with small pupils. Pupil size was monitored by an eye-tracking device while participants ran through different tests and activities. The people with larger pupils performed better in attention, memory, and reasoning tests, which the researchers think comes from better regulation of brain activity linked to intelligence and memory.

new survey found that 69% of respondents said they can’t sleep if they know there’s a bug in their home, and 60% have even gone so far as to say that they want to burn their home down if they came across a bug. And which bugs, in particular, do people hate? 39% said they can’t stand cockroaches, followed by spiders (37%), ants (29%), mosquitos (28%), termites (28%) and ticks (25%).

Madonna is still a daddy’s girl at heart — as she proved in a new video of her and her family celebrating his 90th birthday.
Madge and the kids flew to Michigan to mark Silvio Ciccone‘s big day at the winery he runs on the shores of Lake Michigan. She captured some moments from the trip on a video, which she captioned, “He taught me the importance of hard work and earning one’s way in life. Again I thank you.”

Sure, millions of fans love Katy Perry, but she says that love is nothing compared to what she shares with daughter Daisy.
The new mom talked motherhood with France’s L’Officiel magazine, saying that the feeling is nothing like anything she’d experienced before. Katy says “I’d heard about unconditional love, but now I’m really experiencing it. There’s a wholeness that has happened.”
She contrasted that feeling with what she gets in the spotlight, saying “As a performer, I’ve always relied on the love and acceptance and validation of the outside world and that ultimately can waver at times, When you have a child, you have someone who looks at you and doesn’t know anything on your resume, doesn’t know anything about your bank account, doesn’t know anything, doesn’t care and just loves you.”

If you thought that having a new Debbie Gibson album was something that could happen only in your dreams, think again.

In Wasilla, Alaska, a postal worker saved the day by paying for extra postage to make sure a couple’s wedding invitations were sent out on time.
The bride-to-be, Crystle Lewis, thought she had put enough postage on the 50 invitations that were being sent out. But because of the fancy wax seal on the envelopes, more postage was needed.
The post office informed Crystle and her fiancé that the envelopes couldn’t go out — and those envelopes remained in Crystle’s post office box.
Postal worker Edward Mayton noticed, day after day, that the invitations weren’t being delivered and figured that somehow, some way, the couple didn’t get the message.
So, in order to avoid a disaster and save the couple’s big day, Edward purchased extra postage out of his own pocket and got things rolling again.
Crystle and her fiancé learned about Edward’s kindness later on and were thrilled that Edward helped them out. They found Edward and tried to pay him back for the additional postage, but he refused to accept any money, explaining that it’s important to simply take care of each other. (Fox News)

Stubble is sexy … as long as it’s the right kind of stubble. A study from New Zealand wanted to know what facial hair on men women found most attractive. The answer: Women found men with heavy stubble on their faces the most attractive. But not all stubble is equal – the women in the study found men with light stubble to be the least attractive. Men who were clean shaven and had full beards were found to be the second most attractive, according to the study. And this is interesting … men with beards were perceived to be better parents. We’ve talked about “revenge bedtime procrastination” before … but as a refresher, it’s the phenomenon of staying up late looking at TikTok videos, scrolling through Twitter, playing Words With Friends, etc. – even though you’re tired – because you want to recapture some “me time” after a long day. Well, it seems the problem is getting worse – especially as many people working from home have been working more (and longer) hours. It seems the phenomenon has become so prevalent, experts have actually identified three components that must be present to qualify your behavior as “revenge bedtime procrastination”: 1) Staying up late has to reduce your total sleep time; 2) You can’t be up late for an external reason (like taking care of a baby or because you’re not feeling well); and 3) You have to understand that staying up late will lead to negative consequences. And they can do it without any training — which suggests that they are born with innate social skills. Maybe this explains why they’re just so stinkin’ irresistible … even when they pee on the rug. Whenever you can include both Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra in a story, there’s bound to be buzz.
Nearly 60 years after the death of the ill-fated Hollywood icon, People magazine reports that Frank Sinatra’s onetime manager claims Ol’ Blue Eyes was convinced Marilyn was murdered.
In his memoir Sinatra and Me: In The Wee Small HoursTony Oppedisano quotes Ol’ Blue Eyes late in his life speaking about friends who’d died before him — such as Monroe. “Frank believed she was murdered, and he never got over it.”
According to Oppedisano, Sinatra and Monroe were friends but never lovers. “Frank felt she was too troubled, too fragile, for him to sleep with and then walk away.” Yet, Marilyn apparently confided to Sinatra about affairs with both John and Robert Kennedy, even telling Frank she didn’t understand why the Kennedy brothers cut off contact after she stopped having sex with them.
There’s one other juicy tidbit. The book asserts that Marilyn and ex-husband Joe DiMaggio planned to reconcile — and that a press conference breaking the news was to take place just days after her death on August 5th, 1962. Oppedisano says “Frank believed if the press conference hadn’t been announced, she would have lived a lot longer.”
According to the book, Sinatra claimed several told him that Monroe been murdered with “a Nembutal suppository and Robert Kennedy or the Mob was involved.”

Well this is … bad … A new survey found that 1 in 2 people in relationships say their current partner is the worst sex they’ve ever had. That’s right – half of the people surveyed said the person they are with is lousy in bed. Sounds like the next step here is for these people to communicate better…
The same survey asked respondents if they’d ever injured themselves during the act. 57% of those who had injured themselves while doing it said it happened while trying to do it in the shower.

Guys, do you think you know what women want? A new study of more than 60,000 women from all over the world found that there is one thing that women overwhelming want in a partner. Here’s a hint – it’s not six-pack abs or a seven-figure salary. 90% of the women surveyed said that kindness is the most attractive trait a significant other can have. (PS I Love You)

The CDC says that if you’re vaccinated, you’re basically OK to go about “normal” life without worrying about masks, social distancing, avoiding crowds, etc. But not everyone is ready yet.
Some folks are still really worried about getting COVID, even though the odds are very, very low for vaccinated people. Experts say that’s natural, especially for people who generally have a low tolerance toward risk. They also note that all the media coverage and fear-based messaging of the past year has left people feeling anxious.
If you’re one of those people, there are ways you can cope:
  • Seek out positive messages, like how infection rates are plummeting.
  • Take things slow. Re-enter “normal” life a little bit at a time.
  • Keep wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer if it helps you feel more comfortable.
  • Find someone you trust to talk about your feelings with. Maybe even a professional.
  • Limit your exposure to media and social media that will trigger feelings of anxiety.
The important thing to remember is that feeling this way doesn’t mean you’re weak or that there’s anything wrong with you. (Medical News Today)
