The Ultimate Father-Son Round-The-World Trip

A father-and-son duo from England, George (57) and Josh (23) Kohler, just returned home from a record-breaking, 18,000-mile bicycling journey around the globe.

They rode away from their home near Norwich, Norfolk, on March 29, 2025. From there, they spent a staggering 400 days on the road pedaling across South America, Australia, Asia, and Europe.

They shared a campfire breakfast with a friendly shepherd in a remote part of Turkey, had lunch with locals in Serbia, and were given food and drink by welcoming monks.

Of course, it wasn’t all smooth riding. They had to navigate the brutally hot, barren landscape of Australia’s Nullarbor Desert — and they even got a tap on the shoulder by police in China who escorted them out of a restricted area.

When they returned home, they were greeted by 70 fellow cyclists — and three Guinness World Records: fastest bicycle trip around the world by a father and son, the longest bicycle journey by a father and son, and the most countries visited in a continuous bicycle journey by a father and son. How’s that for an epic father-and-son bonding experience!
