Sia, Shawn Mendes and Joe Jonas‘s DNCE will all contribute songs to the new XBox game We Sing — which promises to turn karaoke into a group sport.
The game, which is set for release in the fall, changes the sing-along game in that it allows for eight-microphone collaborations, and lets wannabe performers use their smartphones as additional mics. The initial round of tunes includes recent hits like DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” and “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes alongside such oldies as ABBA‘s “Dancing Queen” and David Bowie‘s “Let’s Dance.”
Producers went the extra mile to make amateurs sound like actual singers — by adding an auto-tune feature to keep melodies on track.
