The South Haven City Council has again postponed a vote on a package of ordinance amendments for the operating and licensing of food trucks. The council voted last night to hold a forum on November 14 after several members including Mayor Scott Smith said they didn’t want to approve or deny it yet.

“I personally feel we haven’t had a chance to discuss this. The concept of a workshop was thrown out. I just don’t feel it’s ready.”

Several residents also spoke and were also in favor of the forum in November to discuss the plans more. Those included Fruit Street Kitchen owner Monique Crawley.

“We’ve had nothing but success, nothing but good turnout from the community, nothing but support. So if you use that as a prediction of what this could potentially bring to the community, I think it looks pretty successful. I think it looks pretty bright for the future of our entire community.”

She noted, however, the have to close October 31 because they did not get approval to operate year-round.
