Republican state Senator Aric Nesbitt has defeated Democratic challenger Kim Jorgensen Gane.
“As we look at the next four years, I think we’re going to continue to try to work to turn our economy around, create jobs here in the state of Michigan, work to balance budgets, pay down debt, and work to concentrate to fix roads, water, wastewater and infrastructure. That’s what I’m goin to continue to work on.”
Nesbitt will serve the next four years in the Senate. He previously served in the state House and was the director of the Michigan Lottery after being term-limited from the House.
